Felipe and Letizia Attend Oath Ceremony of New Royal Guards

The King and Queen of Spain have attended a ceremony at the El Rey Military Barracks in El Pardo where new members of the Royal Guard swore allegiance to the Spanish flag.

King Felipe first inspected a guard of honour before the main ceremony began, led by the head of the Royal Guard, Colonel Ramón Álvarez de Toledo Álvarez de Builla. The Colonel received the new military and civil personnels’ allegiance to defend their country before addressing the crowd and offering a tribute to fallen Spanish soldiers.

The King and Queen, who wore a white and black sheath dress with floral appliqués, watched the ceremony from the royal stand.
