Official Two-Day Visit by Lebanese President to the UAE

President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Lebanese President Michel Suleiman who started a 2-day official visit to the UAE.

The two leaders held talks at all Al Mushrif Palace which they discussed peace in the region, set up the Palestinian state and emphasised their keenness on promoting joint cooperation between the two countries in different fields. Sheikh Khalifa and President Suleiman attended the signing agreement on setting up a joint committee and executive protocol of tourism cooperation which was signed by UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Lebanese Foreign Minister Fauzi Salloukh.

Meanwhile, the UAE Minister for Culture, Youth and Community Development HE Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Owais and Lebanese Foreign Minister Fauzi Salloukh signed the executive protocol of the tourism cooperation agreement between the two countries from 2009- 2011. After the meeting and signing, Sheikh Khalifa held a banquet in honour of the Lebanese president and the delegation accompanying him.

The Lebanese President Michel Suleiman left Wednesday noon after a 2-day official visit to the UAE as part of his tour of a number of countries in the region. He was seen of at the Abu Dhabi airport by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
