Death of Princess Lalla Fatima Zohra

The Moroccan Royal Court today announced the death of Princess Lalla Fatima Zohra, aunt of King Mohammed VI.

Princess Lalla Fatima Zohra passed away on August 10 at the age of 85. She was born in 1929 the eldest child of King Mohammed V. Her mother was a member of the bint Mamoun family. She was married in 1961 to Prince Moulay Ali Alaoui, a double cousin. They had three children: Prince Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, Prince Youssef Alaoui and Princess Lalla Joumala Alaoui.

Her funeral will take place on August 11, at the Ahl Fes Mosque, before a burial ceremony at the Moulay Al Hassan Mausoleum in Méchouar.
