Infanta Sofía Turns Seven

Infanta Sofía of Spain celebrates her 7th birthday on April 29th. Sofía is the youngest daughter of the Prince and Princess of Asturias; he has an older sister, Infanta Leonor.

Infanta Sofía was born at the Ruber International Clinic in Madrid in 2007. The Infanta was baptised Sofía de Todos los Santos infront of the Palace Chapel of Zarzuela in July 2007. The name Sofia was chosen in honour of her paternal grandmother, Queen Sofía of Spain; while her godmother is her maternal grandmother, Paloma Rocasolano, and her godfather is Konstantin-Assen, Prince of Vidin.

Currently Infanta Sofía is third in the line of succession to the Spanish throne. Public appearances by the Infantas Leonor and Sofía are quite rare, but most recently they attended the traditional Easter Sunday Mass at Palma de Mallorca Cathedral with their parents, grandparents and aunt Infanta Elena.
