Im not a fan about Victorias fashion/style but i think this is her worst dress ever. I think the nobel prizes the best event to wear something other then a simple A-line dress but for mee this is a bit to much.. i hoped she would continue wearing something "old" of Silvias closed..

Must be cold in Sweden. Honestly though, Princess Victoria looks beautiful in everything.

What was Crown Princess Victoria thinking, one of her worst gowns and a relic from the 80's that should be incinerated.

What a risk. I applaud her bravery.

I have mixed feelings or maybe I don't even know what to say. I love the black and white, the jewels, the hair and the front bust area of the dress. But I think it's all too much with those giant sleeves and thick material. At least, she was not cold at all.

As for the hanging sleeve. I wonder if it's really like that or a malfunction. I watched the ceremony live, and she was uncomfortable with it.

Looks like me fighting with my duvet cover ...
No, really ...no.

This gown is a work of art, not just fashion.

I giver points for taking risks she has dressed safely most of her life. There was just too
much going on with this dress. Simplified would have been better.

This gown is a work of art, not just fashion.

I can appreciate the dress for its artistic merits, but that doesn't mean it translates to being worn in real life.

Quite honestly, it's like Carol Burnett's version of the famous curtain dress from Gone With the Wind, if there were no curtains available and all Scarlett had was a duvet.

while I liked the polar prize dress, this one looks like a duvet. Victoria has the best hairdo of the family.

I like it that the princess dared to try something different, a nod to the Swedish court dress perhaps? Sadly the result is a miss, it looks costumy, messy and just odd. As others noted the fabric is far too heavy, the upper part seems to be ill-fitting & sliding down and the a-symmetry of the sleeves seems indeed like a mistake and not as something the designer intended [which I am sure he did].

I suspect the dress looked wonderful on the design table but in reality there were far too many things going on at the same time. The risk with these theatrical outfits is of course that when it fails it fails big.

I hope it does not stop Victoria from trying more extravagant designs as she usually gets them right. The red balloon Nobel gown of a few years ago comes to mind.

Alexander McQueen and Viviene Westwood , could both be counted as Avant Guarde designers who nonetheless managed to straddle the artistic yet flattering aesthetic for statement gowns , and the Nobel Ceremonies deserve such gowns . Lovely as I believe the Crown Princess is , she was not served well being smothered in a pair of over-decorated eiderdown duvets . Whilst we are discussing her fashion it must be remembered that part of being a senior royal is dressing for the part , this gown whilst it may have been " technically accomplished ", was imo not flattering , too dark , and it simply looked "awkward / and not thought out .

The more I look at the pictures, the white edge on the left side of the bust, looks like a pad that nursing mothers use that is slipping out of place. Not a good reference.

The dress could have been stunning, if it had been made out of a different material.

It’s certainly dramatic. I don’t hate it, but agree that a different material could have made this a stunning look.

Kudos to Victoria for wearing Selam Fessahaye. I'm sure the exposure is great for the designer.

However, by George it looks like Victoria is wearing a quilt or duvet cover. No, no!

I am trying hard to come up with something positive about this look. But the only thing I can is her lovely tiara hair.

The dress is horrible. It makes me think of Gone with the wind for two reasons:

1. Instead of making a dress from curtains, she made a dress from her duve. The material, and the quilting pattern, it literally looks like a comforter was taken from her bed and made into a dress.

2. The left side (when on stage) with the big puffy sleeve, and the bulk at her waist reminds me of dresses from that era.

The dress looks like it has split personalities. The horrible puff shoulder on one side, with the sleeping bag roll at her hip. And then the sexy off the shoulder side on the other side.

Not that I like either sleeve, but it would have been slightly better if she chose one design or the other.

Here is hoping we get some better looks tomorrow.

The more I look at this dress, the more I like it.
Quite a dress and a courageous choice.

But yes, my first thought was "gosh, she is out of blankets now"

Surprisingly I really like this dress on her. Drama and she pulls it off well.

I would have to agree. She has such presence she could wear the proverbial sack. If anyone else had worn it we would have been moaning that the dress swamped her and she was the ultimate fashion victim lost in her security blanket.

Instead, we love it, we hate it, it's growing on us . . . but Victoria rocked it.

To me it seems, that Selam Fessahaye has combined to Victoria's dress, this piece of art, the old royal robes of state and Selam's own dress she wore this year:

And I also see Victoria's dress as a tribute from Victoria and Selam Fessahaye to professor Sara Danius, who passed away in October.

This dress looks dramatic, silly (duvet with pillows), messy, too baring, uncomfortable to wear but if that's Victoria's taste, then who am I to argue against it! Some styles grow on me after seeing them from different angles but the more I see it, sadly the less I like it. If she wanted to rebel, then I'd rather she surpised us with some different new hairstyle.

A good nights sleep under my own feather duvet has not changed my opinion of this gown, even in motion all i could think was that in an emergency it would act in much the same way as a car airbag . After seeing the designer pictured in her gown , I am also glad that HRH decided to forgo the shoes . Fingers crossed for tonight's banquet.

Last night was a Winter Duvet tonight she's like a she come as a Christmas Present ...sack the stylist.

If possible, it’s worse than last night.
