and it become worse, I've just seen most of the pictures from yesterday's wedding in Luxemburg

I think she looks excellent! She always looks best when understated.

I'm not a huge fan of this outfit. The dress isn't my cup of tea, but seems to suit Sonja. I don't think the coat goes too well with it.

For the State Visit from Germany Queen Sonja wore a blue gown she recycled many many times.
She first wore it in 1997, for her 60th birthday!

Btw... thinking about recycled gowns... she hasn't worn her "yellow nightmare" in quite a while now.

Queen Sonja often recycles some of her very (very) old dresses. Her favourites seem to be:

The shiny blue gown
The light blue gown
The shiny pink gown
The "salmon"
and of course:
The "yellow nightmare"

Not a fan of the salmon gown. She looks well, like a salmon. A shrimp. A crab. Seafood. You get the point. Just not a fan of that shade in general.
And that yellow nightmare- I can see why you called it that.
Never seen that -that needs to go as far back in the closet as possible.
And I thought Maxima looked like Big Bird the other day. Wrong. This is the ultimate Big Bird outfit. This is Big Bird on steroids.
Didn't she also used to repeat a horrible gown that was yellow, and had lace, and looked like a wedding cake?
That's what I thought you meant at first when you said yellow nightmare . Then I saw the real thing.
Overall though, I love her style. Very regal.
I loved what she wore at MM wedding. Does she also have a sparkly lavender/lilac gown? I seem to remember one. She looked amazing.
