Did they get a new puppy after losing their other dog?

Is it a cavapoo, the same breed Crown Princess Victoria has?

According to the norwegian newspaper the royal couple is going to make bigger their property in Risør

The Crown Prince Haakon is in quarantine

"His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon is in quarantine for the next few days after being defined as other close contact to a person who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Crown Prince has no symptoms.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit will participate as planned in the visit to the vaccine center in the Grünerløkka district tomorrow Thursday 16 December."

Why would it not be true? :flowers: It is in keeping with the online events on which royal families have become more dependent this past year.

A direct link to the press release, which states that the Palace confirmed the Crown Prince family's participation. (From the image, it seems the Crown Prince, Crown Princess, Ingrid Alexandra and Sverre Magnus are expected.) The press release includes the time and address of the event for those who wish to virtually attend.

On February 18 the Palace announced that the King would celebrate his birthday with some winter holidays abroad, see here. So maybe he still is on that holiday.

A wise decision by the Crown Prince as Regent :previous:

Where is King Harald V?

The King has been on a holiday abroad with his wife, children & grandchildren to celebrate his 85th birthday. Only the return of Haakon and Mette-Marit has been announced, so most likely the rest of the family are still on their holiday.

How was Prince Haakon serving as regent if he, too, was out of the country with the King and family?

He wasn't, he returned to Norway so that he could act as regent. Someone needed to return in order to act as head of state in the event that the situation escalated - either the King or the Crown Prince as regent. (Or, theoretically, Ingrid Alexandra, who can now also act as regent, but of course that remains an unlikely option for now.)

Got it. I was under the impression that there always needed to be an acting regent if the King was out of country.

That's Denmark. If the monarch is out of the country, the crown prince takes over as regent. If he is outside of Denmark as well either Mary, Joachim or Benedikte is appointed as Rigsforstander.

The Constitution permits the Council of State to conduct the government if both the King and the Crown Prince are out of the country:

Article 41
If the King is absent from the realm unless commanding in the field, or if he is so ill that he cannot attend to the Government, the person next entitled to succeed to the throne shall, provided that he has attained the age stipulated for the King’s majority, conduct the Government as the temporary executor of the Royal Powers. If this is not the case, the Council of State will conduct the administration of the realm.

Why do they need to build anything with all the residences they have and have access to?

Will they build a new one, or another one?

German Gala Magazine writes that Mette-Marit is no longer a member of the board of the "Kronprinsparets Fond". This can be seen from the Royal Court's annual report 2021.

The Annual Report tells that in September 2021 a new board was named and Mette-Marit is no longer a member.

I wonder if her stepping down is for health reasons. The writer of the Gala article seems to think so, as they mention her recent cancellations of her scheduled events.

Refugees from Ukraine have been given a place to stay at property owned by Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway.

The Norwegian palace confirmed the situation on Tuesday [June 7], news wire NTB reported.

“The refugees will be followed up with the usual procedures used by authorities and municipalities. The refugees have been in Norway for a while,” the palace’s head of communications Guri Ofstad Varpe told newspaper Klassekampen.

While the refugees are staying in property owned by Crown Prince Haakon, the heir to the Norwegian throne, and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, the Crown Prince and Princess are not staying with the refugees.

Three Ukrainian nationals and their children have been provided accommodation under the arrangement.
