The press officer of the court, Bertil Ternert told about the birthday celebration of princess Lilian, there will be cake and a quiet party at her home.
And she can expect gifts.
- We do not tell in advance what everyone will give, says Bertil Ternert.
Crown Princess Victoria is also mysterious.
- I will congratulate the princess in person, she greets via Ternert.
How is Princess Lilian?
- She is fine, says Ternert.
Will the princess have a cake?
- Yes, she will.
Princess Cake? - What kind, I have no knowledge of.

Svensk Damtidning wrote last week, that princess Lilian´s dog Bingo died two weeks ago. Princess Lilian adored the dog, which was a gift from the king and the queen, given on her 82th bírthday, a year after prince Bertil´s death. Bingo was 14 years old.

Magazine "S" wrote in it´s previous number (about a month ago), that princess Lilian´s condition was been worse, she has been taken from her home to Sophiahemmet hospital. According to the sources of S, the people of the court were worried that Lilian could pass away at the same time Victoria gave birth.

I'm so sad to learn of Princess Lilian's worsening condition; she is such an inseparable part of the Swedish Royal Family that it would be extremely hard to imagine the royals without her. Lilian is one plucky lady though, so I hope we'll celebrate her 100th brithday yet; after all, at 96 Princess Lilian is the oldest living member of any reigning European royal family.

As princess Lilian have Alzheimer I wouldn't want her to suffer for seveal more years, and if the disease is so advanced that she needs fulltime care at a hospice I feel very sorry for her and for the entire SRF, especially as they have already lost a family member to the disease.

Yes, I'm referring to queen Siliva's mother Alice Sommerlath, whether it was senile dementia or Alzheimer's disease (a kind of dementia). Her mother's illness was one reason why Silvia took the initiative to found Silviahemmet, Stiftelsen Silviahemmet - Demensvård och utbildning to train assistant nurses as specialists in dementia care.

Finnish MTV3 quotes Expressen:
Princess Birgitta told at an interview to Expressen, that princess Lilian is in such a bad condition, that she doesn't any longer recognize the members of the royal family. She revealed, why Lilian didn't attend at the little princess Estelle's christening.
- Unfortunately, Princess Lilian is no longer able to leave her home. She doesn't recognize the members of the royal family anymore. Lilian does not know who visits her, Birgitta says.
According to her, the whole royal family is a sad and sorry of the condition of beloved Lilian. However, there is nothing to be done.
- It is like that, when one is aging, Birgitta says.
