I really appreciate the photos. It seems like a wonderful idea to get people out and talking with one another, especially in very culturally mixed areas. What is the response to this in the Amsterdam community? Is it considered successful?

Yah, i agree with you, Princess Maxima looked really warm and friendly to people as she always is, she can sit and and talk really and more and more, she could understand them and im sure seeing what problems people are still facing now, so by her role she can find some way to help the society improve much more.

Maxima looked terrific, she's been very pretty lately.

I agree she's dedicating herself to a good cause, and we gat to see a lot of pics from it, but I wonder wether it will really alter anything. Probably not, but she can only do her best!

a short article from spanish newspaper el mundo:

http://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/fotos_gente/2006/01/04/index_3.html

(Foto: REUTERS)

maxima 1 - "pink" press 0: maxima cleaned her honour with the law after the judges said she was right as the dutch press said that she had beaten one of the nursemaids (of her daughters).

yay! that's great news!

i'm so happy for maxima. hopefully this will discourage tabloids from printing more of such nonsense.

the article alledged that M and WA had employed three nannies and fired them all and Maxima had hit one. the article was published in June of 2005 and said the hitting had taken place 'recently'

M and WA's lawyers proved that they had had only one nanny since November of 2004. (she is still with them) they had one other nanny before nov 2004 but she left on amicable terms over differing child-rearing philosophies. that former nanny appeared in court to testify that maxima had never hit her.

maxima will get 5k euros as compensation.

Congratulations to the Princess, although I think the editor of Prive, Evert Santegoeds, will be even more vindictive now (though he has to be respectable to them, as his readers like the crownprincely couple). He is taking revenge on Youp van 't Hek right now IMO, apparently Youp (a famous dutch comedian) was always making fun of the editor when they were in the same shops (they live in the same area), and now Youp cheated on his wife so Evert is doing all he can to get as much durt as possible. It is even rumoured he (Evert) will get his own show on 'Talpa'.

The caption of Newscom is not right. These pictures are old (2003/2004?).

I was thinking the same thing. Her hair is all different now... :)

yes, TheWatcher & Maxie are both right.
These pictures are taken on December 15, 2004 on a Press Conference of Pavem Organization' Biblioteek in The Hague.

Does she use English or Dutch in the conference?

Maxima always speaks Dutch, unless there is some other reason for her to do otherwise (like with foreign guests she's speaking to at state visits and things like that). But at normal Dutch press conferences she always speaks Dutch (as far as I know). She mastered the language very well, though she has still a very cute Argentinian accent. :)
