Thanks a lot for the pic, Florencia! The following one is from
the same evening, this time including Queen Rania, quite rare
to see them together!

I can attest that this surgery is not without great risk! I am a bit surprised that they are not using a more permanent mechanical replacement for the valve, considering the King's age and the risks with surgery in say 10 years but I hope for his continued health and pray for the family.
I think that Heart issues run in the Greek Royal Family (and the rate is higher for former smokers). Didn't the King's father die of a heart attack close to this age? He's been very wise to make sure to be checked frequently and catch this early!

It's a bypass and a valve replacement.
It's serious. I have experience in heart problems by my own mother...
If he has a good general health and this is the only problem, everything will be OK!

Here's an article in a Danish newspaper about King Constantine's upcoming heart surgery:
Ekskong Konstantin alvorligt syg - Danmark

Thank you!!sgl
I do not understand Danish very well, I tried to translate it and I deduce from this:
The reporter has spoken with a medical specialist who had informed him of the operation, said:
usually it has no complications and he says that Constantine will need subsequent rehabilitation, the rehabilitation is slow and it will limit very activities.
Is My translation correct?
I have read a lot about the intervention and I have read that rehabilitation is very slow and the activities that the patient can not do that until he completes his period of rehabilitation, are much, as drive or travel in plane.....(The danish article also says it)

That is what I understood also (I don't speak Danish either). It sounds like he has a long period of rehab ahead of him. I hope that he stays strong and patient while he takes the time to heal. I'm sure that he will have the best medical care available.

I do hope and pray he gets well.. The ties of the family to Greece will be near non-existent in the era after Constantine; all Greek monarchists have an extra reason to wish him all best!

Exactly. It is a routine operation. Not to most it isn't apparently, but it is to those who operate these heart problems.
He has a bigger chance of dying if he does NOT have the op then he has having it.Dearest Tino will be OK,don't worry.
He'll be the same cute Greek he always was.

Good news:
Your general health is good and he has not suspended his calendar of events.
He has been in Poland with Ann Marie and King Harald at the annual reunion of the International Sailing Federation, it was this past weekend.
I have no pictures of the event but I've found in Polish newspapers and official webside of sailing federation reference to it.
Your good health reduces the risk of surgery, I found this website that explains the disease.
