The Strathmore Rose is beautiful and I think it would suit Beatrice very well.

Would also love to see it again but i have my doubts that Beatrice will choose this one. Would be a bit like copying Eugenie by wearing a tiara with coloured stones.

I actually don't worry about that, as it depends on the overall style. Many ladies in BRF wore a Fringe in their wedding but it never gave me a feeling that one is copying or too similar to the other one. (That's also why I would love to see Beatrice wear the QM's Fringe.)

Would it not be nice if Edoardo's parents gave a fancy necklace to Princess Beatrice before the wedding and she wore it on her wedding day?

:previous: The Strathmore gets my vote too...so very beautiful!?

Beatrice woukd look amazing in the strathmore. Especially worn across the forehead like it once was.

But I have my sad doubts we will see it worn again.

Not sure his long divorced parents would give a joint gift, but a gift from one if them woukd be nice. Or like Jack gave Eugenie earrings, Edo could give her one.

Remember to also vote if you haven't;)

My favorite Strathmore Rose Tiara was worn by the Queen Mum in her early years as Duchess of York and given to her by her parents The Earl and Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne upon her marriage.

Now that we know there is to be a reception in the gardens of Buckingham Palace, I'm even more inclined to think that perhaps Beatrice will go for a floral headpiece and perhaps even coordinate it with the flowers that are in season in the gardens. ?

The only way that works and doesn’t look dated like 80s flashback is if she goes for a Boho wedding dress. That doesn’t seem her style.

If no tiara, jewels in her hair maybe.

The garden of Buckingham palace isn’t really a garden in traditional sense. It’s mainly a park with shrubs and trees.

Thanks Countessmeout. I really have no clue what the garden of BP actually consists of other than photographs I've seen of the garden parties held there.

Scratch the floral idea then. I'm changing my vote to a tiara. A simple tiara most likely not an overly grand one but something perhaps like the Strathmore Rose (if it is even in wearable shape. Last I read, it was in need of repair?)

The Strathmore Rose Tiara | The Court Jeweller
"Others think the tiara may have simply fallen into disrepair in the many years since it’s had a public outing. This is a persistent theory -- I almost expect someone to bring it up in the comments on this very post -- but it is almost certainly false. Both of the most recent sightings of the tiara -- during the 2002 Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition and in The Queen's Diamonds -- showed it to be in good shape."

And I’m pretty sure The Queen can scrounge up a few pounds to pay the court jeweler to fix it if needed:ROFLMAO:.

Is there a picture with QEQM wearing it?

Fringe tiaras are not my favorite, feel a bit like a picket fence. And they all seem to look so much alike.

But the Adelaide one is certainly my favorite of the two in the queen's vaults. Unlike Mary, I prefer the slightly more delicate Adelaide tiara.

It would be great to see something else come from the vaults like Eugenie's.

I have a theory regarding British wedding tiaras/first tiara appearances (post 2000), unfortunately it will be hard to test with the DoS in the states and B and E unlikely to attend state events requiring tiaras, but its a theory nonetheless. Camilla didn't wear a tiara to here wedding but for her first tiara appearance HM dug out the Delhi Durbar from the vaults and it hasn't been seen since. For Catherine, the Halo Scroll was dug out of the vaults and hasn't been seen since. For subsequent tiara appearances she wore the Papyrus and Lovers Knot. The Dos and EoY both had tiaras dug out of the vaults for their first tiara appearances as well. It seems HM is digging out the vaults for the first time tiara appearances as a one off. Of course I was waiting for the DoS's first post-wedding tiara event to test my theory but regardless I think its highly likely the Queen will dig out something surprising and wonderful from the vaults as well for Bea.

Thank you for sharing. My own thought is that the circumstances for each of these is quite different.

> For Camilla, I think HM and / or Charles probably wanted Camilla to wear a very serious tiara to indicate her acceptance within the BRF. Subsequently, I think she probably just liked the Greville more, and has used it consistently.

> For Catherine, I thinks she wanted to start small, and chose the Scroll. She probably transitioned to the Papyrus in 2013 for the Diplomatic Reception, her first post-wedding tiara event, as the Scroll was being displayed at a Cartier exhibition. At the time, she probably was not ready to take on "Diana's tiara", but by 2016 had found the confidence to do so.

> Eugenie is probably only expected to wear a tiara once publicly, so I suspect Granny let her choose what she liked

> Meghan was probably going to get to use her wedding tiara throughout her royal career. Pity that ended before we got to see her in a tiara again.

I read somewhere that she used Scroll Cartier tiara because Queen Mother used it and since Catherine is related to the royal family via same ancestor as Queen Mother, she used it as an homage to this connection.

I expect her to use it at least twice. Second time would be the coronation of the next King.

It is such a shame we now won't see this tiara in a very long time...

I think you are right, this tiara is unlikely to be seen again for some time.

At least, we know it's still in the family...it hasn't been used for a while. I get the feeling that it wasn't used because it was supposed to be a tiara that would be strictly associated with wife of Prince Harry (maybe), so it wasn't used in recent occasions before the exact wedding...

I still wonder about Beatrice and will she wear tiara at all now, considering current situation...

My guess is that if Beatrice was intending to wear a tiara, she still will. I do not think "current events" will stop her from doing so.

Aren't they going to release some pictures of the wedding?

I mean they’ve literally just announced it to the press and it happened an hour or so ago....

If its true Im glad. I felt they should have a private wedding, and with the Corona crisis a small discreet one was a lot more appropriate than waiting a year and having a fancy one.

It would be unreasonable to expect them to wait another year or so to please the crowds who wanted another royal wedding. We won't be back to "normal" until a large section of the population is vaccinated, which won't happen in turn until the second half of 2021.
