Flashback Friday: Dutch Prince Announces Engagement

On December 16, 2000, the engagement between Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands – youngest son of Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus – and Laurentien Brinkhorst was announced.

The couple had a brief press conference at Huis ten Bosch alongside the groom’s parents, as well as the Brinkhorsts, Laurens-Jan and Jantien. They married in May 2001, and have three children: Eloise, Claus-Casimir and Leonore.
