Princess Beatrix Opens An Exhibition In Madrid With King Felipe And Queen Letizia
Today, Monday May 30, Princess Beatrix was present at the opening of an exhibition at the Prado Museum in Madrid along with King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain.
The exhibition called “El Bosco” was organized to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Hieronymus Bosch, a Dutch painter born around 1450’s. In the Prado Museum, major work of the Dutch painter from the Royal Collection are displayed but also loans from Museums from abroad like Paris, New York, Washington. The exhibition is sponsored by Foundation BBVA. The exhibition will be officially opened tomorrow Tuesday May 31 and will last until September 11.
At the event were present among other the Deputy Prime Minister Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, the President of the the Community of Madrid, Cristina Cifuentes, Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Íñifo Mendez de Vigo, the Mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, the President of the Royal Board of the Prado Museum, José Pedro Pérez-Llorca, the President of the BBVA Foundation, Francisco González, the Director of the Museo Nacional del Prado, Miguel Zugaza and the Director of the BBVA Foundation, Rafael Pardo.
After the opening of the exhibition, the royals headed to Zarzuela Palace. Princess Beatrix was welcomed by King Juan Carlos, Queen Sofia. A lunch was held for Princess Beatrix in the of King Juan Carlos, Queen Sofia, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
