First Pictures of Sweden’s Baby Prince

The first photographs of Sweden’s newborn Prince, the son of Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill, have been released by the royal court.

In the photos, the infant – born on Monday afternoon – is contently asleep, wearing a grey romper and a white shirt.

The court also announced that a cabinet meeting with King Carl Gustaf, Crown Princess Victoria and the government will take place tomorrow, June 17, at 5pm local time, in which the name and duchy given to the newborn will be announced. A Te Deum service will be held on Thursday to celebrate the birth.

Prior to the photos being release, Chris O’Neill returned to Danderyd Hospital with the couple’s elder child, Princess Leonore, to introduce the 16-month-old to her new brother. Mr O’Neill said to reporters that he was “tired but very happy.”
