Spanish Royal Family Host an Audience for National Football Team

Madrid – July 2nd, 2012

His Majesty The King was joined by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Asturias and the Infantas Leonor, Sofia and Elena at the Palacio de la Zarzuela to host an audience in honour of the National Football Team.

Shortly after arriving at the Madrid-Barajas Airport, the winning Spanish Team departed for the Palace where they were greeted by a jubilant King Juan Carlos and members of the Royal Family. The adorable Infantas Leonor and Sofia proudly wore the Spanish team’s distinct red shirts.

The King and Royal Family greeted and congratulated the team one by one at a reception held at the Palace.

Her Majesty Queen Sofia, who is currently on a visit to the Philippines, was notably absent.
