Looks too Las Vegas showgirl to me, really over the edge. The makeup is frightening

I think Maxima nailed it! Just perfect. A true Queen.

Not a fan. Barbie Disney on Ice costume. Was she wearing skates? ?

I agree, but everyone knows how I hate those damn sashes worn over lovely outfits. Don't care if they are a tradition, let the men wear the silly things and the women could wear their emblems on lovely small ribbons placed nicely on outfit. Even this outfit would have been improved without that additional sash. JMO

That's the awful shrug from princes day this year, hate it then hate it now.

Is that a jumpsuit under it, or same dress just looking odd angle.

It looks like a jump suit.

Not her best evening look but i don't mind it,the color is nice
Her hair is not the usual mess but hate that hairdo on her

Not too wild about Maxima's jump suit but I don't like jump suits at the best of times. The colour suits her, though.

The colour is nice but that's about it,Queen Maxima started off on a fashion high note in Japan but sadly that didn't last long.

From the neck up the Queen looks lovely. I love the suede wrap top!
But those pants!! Yikes...the only excuse is it is from sustainable collection. If not- they need to be burned!

Tale of two haves ,top part is really lovely including the hairstyle, the pants look like the belong to her sister in law and should never be seen again.

For me this is a classic case of the outfit probably being better as a skirt/dress rather than as trousers. The black and green combination is nice though.

Its lovely apart from whatever is around her waist...a belt or something fluffy.

A nice look and looks like Queen Máxima didn't forget the hairdresser as her hair looks really nice. The jewels work well and a relief not to see gaudy bits of plastic or leprechaun beard necklaces.

I like the hemline, makes it interesting. Dress is simple but lovely. :flowers:

The only part I don't get is what is going on under the belt, the black area before the flowers start again?? Feathers??? That's just bugging me.

I like this look, her hair and make up is great.

Here we go, who would have guessed a feathery peplum tied with a belted bow.

Of course there would be feathers and a peplum! I like the print and the dress, but I am much less enthusiastic about the feathers. It is very Maxima, though.

According to Josine Drogendijk of the website modekoninginmaxima the dress is by the brand Zazi. The brand wants to finanially support women that work and live on the former silk route and who use ancient techniques. The dress is handwoven by women from India and the fabric is recycled khadi. Jeanne Zazi Margot de Kroon is the face of the brand. She is originally from The Hague but now lives in Berlin.
