I think any HRH including B and E and Princess Michael are entitled to wear a tiara, also the D of K, if she rallies herself to go. This working royals thing has got a bit out of hand. These women are royal princesses and, although they may not officially work for the firm, that is their rank and they are certainly entitled to wear their tiaras. PM in particular has never 'officially' worked for the Monarchy and has attended tiara events her whole life.
Princess Michael has access to her own tiaras, the York girls don’t have their own. There’s no comparison.

I think in that case the problem for Beatrice and Eugenie could be that they don't own a tiara and their mother only has one, if she still has it. Marie-Christine has 2 tiaras who are owned by her husband and Zara's mother has also several tiaras, but Beatrice and Eugenie would need to borrow one from their uncle.

If Charles refused to loan a tiara for one of them (which would be a bit petty if all others are wearing ones) one of the sisters could just buy one. There are some old tiaras for sale that aren't terribly expensive, and there are also tiaras made converted from necklaces (and maybe they already own those). And can be sold later again, the price of a tiara used in a coronation should not decrease at the very least. Many buy jewelry to be investments specifically. People don't buy tiaras anymore much but it used to be done.

I do not know if they would care enough but that's what I would do if everyone was wearing tiara in the family and there should be more excuses to buy jewelry  They are art imo.

Mobility issues aside , King Harald and Queen Margrethe are sticking with tradition by not attending the coronation of a fellow reigning monarch. I am on the contrary surprised that other monarchs have departed from tradition and will attend, as they did also in Tokyo at the Japanese enthronement.

Surely though traditions are set by the host country not for foreign guests to impose old traditions on? Otherwise William could be asking Frederick and Haakon when he will be invited to their coronations...oh yes the Danish and Norwegian royal houses have done away with that tradition. I just don't understand the logic of it, especially when both the monarchs concerned are in poor health and have good reasons for not attending in person.

As if he would refuse to do that. No one would be so cruel. He is a stickler for what I consider ridiculous protocol but if they are all in tiaras he wouldn’t have his nieces without.

If it is to be a Tiara Event, I CAN definitely see Charles and Camilla lending The York Girls a Tiara from "The Vault". Graciously.

There has been a definite re-establishment of a friendlier relationship between Sarah and Charles and Camilla, regardless of Andrew's public disgrace. Him walking with the Royal Family on Easter proves that.
If the York Girls are in Tiaras, I hope to see Zara in one too. Wouldn't it be great to see Louise in *some* jeweled headpiece too. If not a Tiara, something like The Queen Mothers "Cartier Bracelets Bandeau", that She wore to great affect in her hair on a few occasions when Duchess of York.

I am hoping for Tiara "pomp and pageantry" at The Coronation, it would be lovely to see.

I'd like to see the royal granddaughters in tiaras ... all, except for Louise, have worn one for their respective weddings ... it's not like they have never worn them before.

I don't think Uncle Charles is petty.

Tiaras can be borrowed and my point is that anyone can wear a tiara.
The point I’m making is Princess Michael isn’t under Charles’s rules because she doesn’t have to borrow from Charles so she’s not in the same situation as them. I never said anyone can’t wear a tiara but okay. No one is entitled to wearing a tiara, people wear what they have or can afford.

I guess it all depends on what the invitation says - if it says dress and hats no one will (or should) be turning up in tiara unless explicitly told /asked to by Charles. We'll just have to wait and see.

Maybe all those IMO remarkable absence of reigning monarchs could be a tit-for-tat response for C and W not attending Constantine' s funeral...

Its not remarkable at all. Usually reigning monarchs DO NOT attend cornations tho' that is changing now. and given that some reigning monarchs are quite old, its not surprising that they wold not come

B and E could also borrow from a jeweller or from somewhere else without asking their uncle.

Personally I dislike grand jewels during daytime because it will not even unfold 20% of their magic beauty. For that dimmed lighting, preferrable the refraction of hundreds of lights from chandeliers and candelabras are the ingredients. A flood of light during daytime is like a bottle of Coca-Cola left open: all the fizz and the sparkle has gone.

I surely do hope on lots of sparkle. But make me the organisator, let me use Hampton Court, have it illuminated with countless of wax candlelights and footmen holding candles or torches while esteemed guests in all their sparkle and finery arrive for a magic banquet. Thát is doing justice to the magic spell of these fabulous stones.

Agreed 100%. Given that Louise is an adult now, unmarried yes but still an adult, I really hope to see all four of the nieces in tiaras. Their wedding tiaras for the older three and a smaller tiara or bandeau for Louise. Maybe the Cartier Bracelets Bandeau or the Halo Scroll or one of the other smaller pieces. And, if I'm honest, I'd love to see Charlotte in a small coronet. Maybe even the one the late Queen wore to her father's coronation.

Charlotte can't wear the late queen's old coronet because the coronet for the child of a monarch is different than the coronet for a grandshild of a monarch.

The Norwegian Royal Court confirms: Haakon and Mette-Marit will attend the Coronation!

The Luxembourg Palace confirmed to Gert’s Royal via email that Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa will attend King Charles’s Coronation next month.

The Palace of Zarzuela has confirmed to local media that King Felipe and Queen Letizia will attend King Charles’s Coronation on May 6, 2023.

Margaretha, The Custodian of the Crown of Romania and Radu, the Prince Consort will be guests at the coronation.

Princess Margareta holds very warm ties with her cousin King Charles.

Her father, King Michael of Romania, was cousin of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The two, who were both born in 1921, spent a lot of time together in their childhoods.

Prince Philip was a godfather to Princess Margareta. King Charles and Princess Margareta know each other their lives long.

I'm also not at all surprised to see Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu invited :previous:

I can not remember the last time I paid anything with coins (since years, especially since COVID, the contactless use of mobile phones for payments has rocketed) but I like the classic design.

I doubt too many will be using them at Sainsbury's ;)
These are more of a Collectors Item,I have a collection of Commemorative Coins of the late QEII in a Wooden case..
The coins are minted in limited numbers.

She is probably travelling because she isn't going ot be invited. I think that she's made quite a comeback, because the queen loved Andrew and during Covid etc, Sarah was around and their old friendship was renewed. But I think Charles would draw the line at inviting her to the Coronation...
