A more complete video of the private dinner the family hosted for foreign royals the night before the coronation.



Looks like just about most foreign royals attended!

Yes, most of the royal guests to the coronation attended the dinner. I admire the poster for staying until they left. My friends and I left after the arrivals because of the dreadful weather.

Strange, but I didn't see Maxima or Letizia. Weren't they invited? Are they maybe not so close to the british royals?

Willem-Alexander and Máxima were not yet in London. They only arrived on Saturday morning as the day before they celebrated Liberation Day in the Netherlands, including the traditional concert in the evening. That's why princess Beatrix and the princess of Orange attended the reception earlier in the day. In addition, it was a great way for Amalia to be involved in the coronation festivities without attending the actual coronation for which each royal family (except the Greeks) only received an invitation for 2 seats.

Philippe and Mathilde also didn't attend - but in their case, it was also Elisabeth who went to the reception during the day and not her mother (although it seems that her mother was already in London). Felipe and Letizia did attend both the reception and the coronation.

As explained in the previous post: at the same time of the party in London the Dutch royal couple sailed with a barge over the Amstel in Amsterdam, waving farewell to the Liberation Day Concert at that river: picture.
