British Royal Christmas 2: Sep 2022 -

That is a lovely photo of them.

The photo chosen for the Christmas card is wonderful.

It's a nice photo of the Queen- Consort looking adoringly at her husband. However asa Xmas card It's lousy.

I wonder if the King will host a family lunch at BP (or Windsor or CH if maybe the renovations don't allow it) for the wider family as the late Queen use to. It would be nice in the future if the lunch was held on the same day as Catherine's carol concert and the family attend both.

I would expect the traditional family lunch to be held some time this week, or perhaps, early next week. They may well move the venue to Windsor, if the BP renovations make it tricky.

The just hosted a State Banquet and the diplomatic reception at BP with hundred of guests at each of them so i don't think the the renovations there would be a Problem for the Family Christmas lunch as that is attended by much fewer people.

To be fair the Xmas cards are never particularly Christmassy .i.e Holy

We live in a multi faith society, the cards are usually a favourite photograph taken at some point earlier in the year,

And Camilla is wearing Christmas colours – red and green.

I am really looking forward to see the royals during this Xmas season. There has been too much drama and sadness in the past 2 years.

It will be refreshing to see the whole family come together for a happy occasion.

Reports coming out that this is the photo used this year by William and Kate for their Christmas Card -

This is a delightful family photo to be featured on this year's Christmas card.

Don’t like it at all. Not very Christmasy or even autumnal, it screens summer to me.

I don’t get why the British royals don’t use Christmas themed family photos like the other royals do.

Sometimes they're themed towards Christmas and sometimes they're not. The card for King Felipe and Queen Letizia featuring a lovely portrait of their daughters isn't themed towards Christmas, but it's still a wonderful photo. ?

Reminds me the family photo of the Belgian royal families couple years ago.

Looks nice and Christmassy to me - lovely summer's day with the family. What more could a person want at Christmas - sun and family and a lovely salad with the fish finished with a slice of pav and some lovely fresh fruit.

What is Christmassy to one person isn't to another. Many of the recipients of these cards won't be Christians or celebrate Christmas so better a neutral picture than one that doesn't have any meaning for many of the recipients.

Yes, a lovely family picture not so for Christmas mood but at the last year was the same. Just they just choose a picture for the Christmas card.

It's nice, but it looks more like a "Having a great time, wish you were here!" holiday vacation post card than a Christmas card imo.

Its a really lovely photo and I agree it has nothing festive about it.

Cards sent out by C&C or W&C rarely are festive, that is just the way they come.

I'm aware of that and that's the trend with most Royal Houses now.

Looks like a lovely Christmas card to me - sun, family - what could be better (other than a BBQ with lots of lovely prawns and a salad). To me a Christmas card should be full on sun and summer clothes. All that is missing is the sand or a pool - typical Christmas weather for me.

Were the Christmas Cards from the late queen ever made public?

British Royal Christmas 2008-2022

I’m for cards that have some reference to Christmas. It’s a lovely family photo, but sending seasonal greetings should be just that. It doesn’t matter if the recipient doesn’t share the climate or religion. In the UK we celebrate Christmas when it’s the wintry season and it’s our largest traditional festival.

Also found this gallery of previous Christmas cards, including some early ones from the late Queen.

That is because where you live, there is Summer during Christmas. For met is the full opposite as here (and also in the UK) Christmas is during Winter.

I must say Id be surprised if the queen setn out pics of herself for Xmas. I think that Christmas cards should have a religious theme.

If you look at my previous post there is a link to a gallery which includes several of the official Christmas cards sent by the late Queen and they are family photos. Although the gallery doesn’t include later ones.
I think there was a general thread of Royal Christmas cards from families of various countries which probably contained more recent ones. I took a quick look but couldn’t find it.

Yes I was think along those lines and it would be something similar to the Nativity Image on the Christmas Cards sent by queen Sofia of Spain.
