Well, as I just mentioned elsewhere, she is owning this look. Good for her.

And I want to go on record as saying a five inch pant cuff is silly rather than edgy, IMO.

Maybe it is a somewhat "acceptable" appearance for a Mrs Von Amsberg to have a ravaged hairdo. For Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, from the most expensive continental monarchy, my expectations are somewhat better than this. May I expect a bit more???? In april she will be six years Queen. Six years in which the style and dignity of Queen Beatrix is missed. By me, that is.

Maxima is a very chic and very bold (in term of fashion) person to me and I don't get why she always keeps her hair messy in recent year. I don't mean she should do a updo every time but now it's like she just forgets to brush her hair

I have no idea. I do not have the talent to speak about majorities without proper statistics.

I have given up on the hair. I think the trousers and top look good and the purple looks good on her. As mentioned above, the earrings look like curtain tassels. They are also too long. What really bugs the daylights out of me is the continuing trend of wearing a coat draped over the shoulders. Max and all the other royals (and a certain first lady) need to go back to putting their arms in the sleeves as intended.

The purple is a beautiful color and I do love the over all look

That said the purple is too much, needs something to cut through the purple. Some accessories, or a coat in a different color. Too much of a good thing.

Earrings are horrible, and she needs to do something with her hair.

Maxima looks lovely. I'm not a huge fan of the hat, but it works well with the dress, and I actually like the necklace, which I usually don't with some of Maxima's more modern pieces.

Yes, those "man style" hats are really quite the style now and I am enjoying. So much better than those silly things that sat on the forehead of women like dishes with stuff spouting up off them in rear or top. Maxima looks clean and actually very well put together. Love all one color also. Pure class.

I love the proper hat. She is one of the few I can count on for a proper hat, and not a headband/fascinator or even a pillbox hat. Pillboxes are fine, but only certain women like Mathilde can pull it off and not look out dated.

Hate the necklace. I hate Max's costume jewelry like this. Not as bad as her lobster necklace but still.

I actually like Maxima's look on the 8th of Feb. A very up-to-date tonal look broken up with a small amount of glitter. What spoils it for me is her hair. Probably not her fault as God gave her extremely thin and stringy hair that unless fixed daily by professional in a structured look, turns a bit messy. We have all seen her hair beautifully styled but I am sure that it takes a good hour to achieve. Hair is just not this queen's favorite thing to spend her time on. Since it has been talked about for many years, I doubt her attention to it will change. As long as her husband isn't annoyed over the look, our opinion will never mean anything to her about her messy style.
