I love the bright skirt of Letizia but matched with the silky top is a big mistake IMO. Its just to shiny for the bright skirt.

I thought the whole look, hair, top, skirt, and shoes, were simply awful! The shoes would have been fine, but not with that outfit. What was she thinking?

Those two colours worked just fine, pink and grey are colours that match each other, the problem is that she is too thin and the skirt doesn't suit her because of that...but the rest is O.K!

Grey /pink is fine but those 2 fabrics do not go together at all- the skirt is cute but the entire outfit looks extremely sloppy

I like the skirt, but don't like it with the style of the Mango shirt. I think a ruffle shirt with buttons could be better. A hot pink skirt and a grey shirt is an interesting combination, usually people go with a white shirt.

It's a family event, not a state funeral, letizia dressed the same way as the infantas (Elena and Pilar). Sofia looks more formal, that's just her style.

It's a family event?:flowers: It's a funeral. It doesn't matter how Elena and Pilar are dressed. Letizia should take her cue from how her husband and MIL are dressed. Good for Sofia for dressing formal to show her respect.

The Infanta Pilar seems to wear black pants to everything, she must not like skirts or dresses!

Letizia dressed like most of the people at the funeral, it's very common to see women wearing cotton T-shirt inside a pantsuit at a funeral, it happens everywhere, nothing short of respect. Sure she could have worn 'I'm a royal, look at me' type clothes, she probably didn't feel it was necessary, it was perfect OK for a family funeral IMO.

Actually only a very thin woman can wear a puffy skirt, otherwise the hip would look huge. As some others said, the fabrics of the skirt and shirt don't match, the shirt is too loose for a loose skirt. I think a fitted shirt would look a lot better with the skirt, a high waisted penncil skirt would look good with the loose shirt too.

Letizia´s skirt is from Adolfo Dominguez.

I've never understood why putting some effort into how one looks has to mean "I'm a royal, look at me."

Nor do I, Emmily. I have always tried to put some effort into what I wear no matter what the occasion might be, and I am Certainly not royal! :)

My thoughts on both outfits:
Funeral Outfit - It's a little plain but acceptable for the occasion. She could have doen a little more with her hair, makeup & jewelry to polish up the look.
The Gray & Pink Outfit - OMGoodness, don't like the top, it's too big and I don't think that it would look good with anything. The pink skirt looks too big and "droopy". The whole outfit is poorly put together and the individual pieces are just aweful by themselves.

Personally, I like to see a princess in a skirt or dress whenever/wherever possible, and particularly at weddings and memorial services or funerals. I agree with you, dazzling. A t-shirt would have been okay had it been higher on the neck and a dressier fabric, like a shell or sleeveless blouse.

That is a very casual look, not what I would expect from a royal to wear to a funeral. If I was attending with the Queen, I would pull out my best look to look just as royal as the Queen.

I was continueing my original reply on this topic (post #210) since you also compared her to her MIL. Most women at the funeral didn 't dress as formal as Sofia, but it didn't mean they wore inappropriate clothes. Perhaps Letizia just preferred a bit more relaxed, yet formal enough look like her most of her Borbon relatives.

Letizia's style has always been more business wear that glamour anyway

May 24, 2011 - Letizia in a navy blue suit matched with a striped t-shirt.
The striped top looks like something she can enjoy in Mallorca, the suit is a bit too shiny IMO unless its not but pictures bad.

The navy blue suite is nice, but I don't like the striped t-shirt. Maybe I'm wrong but IMO the striped t-shirt is too casual. It would have been better a white blouse.

I agree with Marika. The suit is ok but the t-shirt is too casual and looks big for Letizia.

I agree as well, she looks kind of blah.

I agree with you!! Sometimes she puts some fashion style on her outfits but almoust all of them are business suits and she is working anyway so she has the right aprouch about that :flowers:!

Wow, what is going on with this look? None of the pieces fit, and the top doesn't belong with the suit. And while I do like her hair parted on the side, this isn't a good look.

Letizia's style isn't "glamour," and that's fine. But it certainly isn't "business." She looks sloppy, sad to say.

:previous: Jeans, yes. Came to my mind when I saw that, too. Very casual and sloppy look. But I've seen worse I'm afraid. In fact I think that royal blue suits her very well and I love her hair parted on the side.

personally, i don't like letizia's style. i think she has a bad posture(look at the shoulders, how high they are) and that makes her looks worse.

Good grief. What is she thinking when she dresses like this? Letizia's fashion sense just seems to be getting worse and worse. Such a shame...

The whole looks is a recycle, featured in the Spanish magazines before. A suit with a striped t-shirt is a cool and fashionable look, very in fashion. These days the trend is more relaxed even for the business look. The jacket has big shoulder pads just like most of Varela's suits (that's why I always think she should dump Varela), that's why her shoulders appeared high.

Unnecessary big shoulder pads

If it was a striped shirt I would not mind but at the end of the day as a future Queen sometimes fashion is not the right step you should take.

Letizia also uses this suit with a pretty white blouse sometimes - which is usually a nice business-look. With this striped shirt and rather messy hair she looked quite sloppy.
