[/font]PREGONERA. Letizia Ortiz, in the celebrations of Ribadesella./N. ACEBAL The narrow relation that the future Princess of Asturias and Reina of Spain has with the council of Ribadesella is not product of the chance. Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano feels great predilection by the landscapes of this council and the small village of Sardeu where their grandparents reside to pater to us. Up to here one approached whenever its work was allowed it. Nevertheless, it will not be the first member of the Royal Family who has chosen east corner of Asturias to rest.
The bonds of Ribadesella with the Spanish Monarchy go back to century XVI, when Carlos I of Spain (V of Germany) and all his séquito spendt the night in this council after his unexpected disembarkation in Bowls. In his trip to Santander they did scale in this villa days 24 and 25 of September of 1517 and were entertained here with in excess festejos and of bulls.
The following regal bow is much more near, took several forever in arriving. It was in 1912 July, when King Alfonso XIII visits the villa of the Marquesses of Argfüelles in the sandy ground of Santa Marina. Its arrival was greeted with safe of tube and sirens of the berthed steamers in the port. Fabrics and garlands of flowers invaded the hotel of the Marquesses. Alfonso XIII participated those days in an aid of clay pigeon disputed in the field of fire improvised in the riosellana beach.
Two years but late, in the summer of 1914, Infant Paz de Borbón passed itself by the same hotel. In 1926 Prince de Asturias did, Alfonso de Borbón. And in 1929, its brother Jaime de Borbón, Infant of Spain. An ample relation of illustrious and real visitors who used to receive the Marquesses of Argfüelles in their villa-hotel of Ribadesella, turned today Great Hotel of Sella.
' Spain Salvajé
That regal custom was lost in passing of the time until, in December of 1995, the present Prince of Asturias, Felipe de Borbón, arrived by these earth to participate in the running of one of the chapters of the TVE program ' Spain Salvajé. A documentary one that was dedicated to the reproduction of the salmon in the Sella river. That event took place the 2 of December of 1995 and, during his stay in Ribadesella, it had lunch with the local authorities in the same villa that had visited its great-grandfather 83 years before. But hours before that food it had opportunity to be soaked of popularity in the nucleus ribereño of the Alisal. There it greeted his neighbors and, in ' the Llagarón', its company/signature printed in the fabric of a handkerchief was flattered with a good breakfast, leaving.
The relation of Felipe de Borbón with the council of Ribadesella had begun years before that visit thanks to its sentimental relation with Isabel Sartorius. The one that at that time was its officious pretendiente it chose a large house of this villa to separate from the noise of cameras and flashes of the photographers. Here it tried to hide itself worldwide, but it did not obtain it either. Those visits also woke up the rumors of encounters with earth Prince Felipe as much as on the high seas. Isabel Sartorius still today continues visiting of incognito the riosellano council.
It is the same municipality chosen by the future Queen of Spain to spend the summer. And it is that Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano always confessed that the village of Sardeu, where their grandparents reside, is its preferred place to enjoy its vacations. Who knows if the next year will accompany to its Prince husband to give the prize to the Exemplary Town from Asturias to the locality of Tereñes, in which will be its room attempt to obtain so prestigious award. In Ribadesella already they have begun to make bets.
What nobody puts in doubt is that this new real bow with the council will be very positive and will facilitate the tourist promotion of the municipality. "Spain is massively monarchic and I believe that all this will be absolutely positive as far as promotion and to our influence in the state scope. The only thing which desire is that the princes come much this way and who that serves to present the world these hidden beauties ", assures Toni Silva, president of Promotion of the Tourism (Foturi). And it is that, in his opinion, "it will be the definitive accolade of Asturias; it will be fundamental so that a little less costs to us to leave to sell our tourist supply ".
