I think this dress is really beautiful! I like the cut of the top and this little train is really stunning.

IMO I think that Queen Rania carries the gala dresses the best - she holds a supreme elegance, posture and regalness yet it is met with a relaxed and almost 'casual' air.

And why not. She is a practical woman and, if she didn't she would waste far too much time with fittings and such.

The cost of gala dresses must also be a factor. European Royalty is expected to to present well but not be noticeably spindthrift.

I absolutely agree. The first incarnation had the WOW effect. The second is definitely a so-so also-ran.

I have always been expecting the nobel prize ceremony in Sweden every year. Love how these gala gowns looks on Queen Silvia. She's really regal and stunning in different gown with tiara and all the glittering jewels.

It was such a Cinderella dress. Very fitting for the wedding of Märtha Louise somehow.
I loved it!
The backview is fantastic. The gloves; the little heart on her sash; the matching shoes and purse (with the same pattern as the upper part of the dress)... perfect look!

Its a nice dress but it was abit too fairy tale dress for me. The color was perfect. I have liked better gown on MM like the one from the king's 70th birthday, the two gowns were stunning.

IMO queens and princesses look the best while wearing red gowns... it's really a royal colour....

Silvia's mother-of-the bride dress was fantastic! Letizia in red is always dazzling-red is her color and I'd like to see her wear it more (although she looked breath-taking in blue at Niko's wedding!)

Letizia's red gown & blue gown were really pretty but nothing that screamed beautiful nor did I think it was something we hadn't seen before form various designers.
