Thank you Blueice for those beautiful pics.

Here's a bigger pic of Lalla Salma at her wedding. I love the tiara and the matching earrings. So timeless and regal.

the design on her face, what does it mean? is it like tatoo cristals? i noticed all of the royal brides wore them, is there something behind it?

I assume it has traditional significance.
Maybe someone of Moroccan background could explain it to us?

As far as i know the design in the face means nothing , it's just a make up for the morrocan brides :)

Thanks Humera for the pictures.
The princesses tiaras match the earrings and necklaces as well. For salma it's not evident in the picture ... even I guess she has also a necklace. The princesses tiaras looks nice specially the one of Hasna.

Salma' tiara is a Greek Key diamond, called also Meander' tiara.
The word "meander" derives from the River Maiandros, which inspired the ancient Greek key pattern, so the lines/square spiral wanders like the Maiandros River.

There is a similar tiara in this site http://alexandris.de/antique.htm
It says: A CHAUMET DIAMOND TIARA, ca.1910 , set in platinum, Designed in the Greek key pattern , very characteristic of this period, in its original CHAUMET case.

So apart from it is beautiful tiara, I would expect Greeks (or Europeans) to wear a Greek key tiara not arab princess/queen. Here some ladies who wore Romanian Greek Key Tiara,

Thanx for the info abir:)
I knew Lalla Salma's tiara was a Greek Key Tiara, which is why I think it looks so regal.
Its too bad we dont get to see Moroccan princesses wear their tiaras more often. The only time I've seen them wearing tiaras is at their weddings. They dont wear them at state visits either.

You are welcome Humera.
Yes, it's pity to have beautiful tiara and not to wear it that often. Maybe they don't because the princesses usually wear big earrings, necklace and a long gold belt ... so if they add to that a tiara it will be too much I guess :)

yes that true!
Their jewels and traditional gowns are splendid enough. A tiara might be lost in all that finery.

Thanks for the pics, Humera. Very interesting pieces of jewelry. Some of which (I presume - diamond/ruby necklace and earings) are rather unusual as well. Although photos can't always be flattering, Lalla Meryem indeed is a beautiful and elegant lady.

Lovely pictures, thanks Humera.
In the first three pictures, I don't see Meryem wearing often those earings and necklace, maybe they were a gift from Hillary Clinton. I don't know their details but I beleive they aren't diamond if it was a gift.
Meryem gave a Moroccan dress as a gift to Hillary Clinton.

I didnt know that story.
That was a nice gesture indeed, on the part of both Hillary and Meryem.

I heard about first ladies changing gifts ... I saw a picture of Rania giving a very simple neckalce to Hillary Clinton. Now about Meryem earring/necklace, I always thought it was a gift from Hillary, maybe because of the color red/blue like the US flag color ... but can't really remember.

If someone knows about that necklace/earring, please confirm. Thanks.

I put down salma picture in paris 2003. The earrings look bit similar to hasna' earrings in the last post. The only difference I see is in red pieces hasna' earring don't have.
