"In the Royal Family of Romania, since the time of King Carol I and Queen Elizabeth, the tradition of sending royal Christmas and New Year greetings has been preserved. The tradition continued with King Ferdinand and Queen Maria, with King Charles II, with Queen Mother Elena and, until recently, with King Mihai and Queen Ana.
Nowadays, in the first days of December, every year, at the Elisabeta Palace, 600 Christmas and New Year cards are prepared, which Her Majesty Margareta and Prince Radu sign and send to family and friends, organizations, institutions and companies. All envelopes are shipped with Romanian royal stamps."

Margareta and Radu are 2 of the busiest royals with so many events and receptions and not even a Reigning House!

And all doing it with a relatively modest budget and a small staff. An example for other monarchies.

:previous:
I'm also curious to know how much they receive annually from the state.

Absolutely credit to the Romanian Royal Couple for all that they do and have achieved over the years!

Her perfect Speech in English in the Trone Hall was a speech of a Head of State !

Its a shame that the Throne is just a clever Large photo insert and that the Throne Room was never fully restored to its previous majesty.

I believe it was around 12 million Romanian Lei (2,5 million Euro) plus the usufruct of the Palais Elisabeta, the facilitary, utilitary, logistic, military and administrative assistance by the State, as well the security, which is not translated into a prize tag.

Apart from this the royal family makes use of properties placed into the Fundația Colecția Familiei Regale a României, subsidies and contrubutions to the Asociația Casa Majestății Sale and the revenues from the privately owned domains around the Castle of Săvârşin and the Castle of Peleș (forestry, vineyards and rented-out agricultural lands).

All by all -in comparison to most monarchies- a modest budget, of which they make excellent use, seeing how many activities they do, and with great dignity and style.

I watched her Christmas Eve address. Even though I don't speak Romanian it's pretty easy to understand. It also showed her with then Prince Charles and briefly Prince Edward.

It's pretty fascinating to see how successfully they can mirror reigning families, even if the filming isn't particularly hard the fact that it was broadcast on Romanian television is notable.

There's no denying the Crown Princess Margareta has done wonders and the Romanian Royal website and communications office is doing a far better job than some of the reigning houses.

And on a shoestring budget too I'd imagine!
