"Two Queens in our greenhouse at Solliden - Margit & Silvia
Of course, I would have agreed to do the Themed garden also without a royal meeting, but it has been a great carrot for us to imagine this very thing.
Margit started the commercial garden in Kalvsvik with her husband Holger in the 50s. Next week she turns 96. And she has been working the entire time. A little less now, of course. The queen asked if she grew some strawberries at home, but granddaughter Katrin corrected and told about Margit's slightly more extensive work. A good portion of all the plants you buy from us at the commercial garden have passed through Margit's hands! Like a large part of those that grow in and around our greenhouse at Solliden.
On a normal day at work in the spring, one of the girls prepares Margit's workplace and carries in the heavy soil. We might pick up a few trays of plants, which might be fun to pry out of the greenhouses. Margit looks for pots...
It has absolutely been our highest wish that Margit will be able to meet the King and Queen. And I'm really glad that the Queen was so thoughtful and sat for a while and talked on the bench in the greenhouse It touched most of us! And even if the day was long (extra long perhaps for those approaching a hundred...) it gives us a big dose of energy, to continue cultivating and inspiring."

King Carl Gustaf and queen Silvia take today part in the traditional Swedish King's Rally on Öland. The Rally started at 10.00.
The King usually takes part in the Rally with the Volvo PV60 that he received in connection with his 50th birthday, but at this year's rally the layout is a little different.
Instead of driving only his Volvo PV60 as usually, this year the King will drive the rally's sections in different cars, which he owns or has owned. On the first leg towards northern Öland, he will see his Volvo P1800, one of his first cars. At the second leg, the King will drive the Porsche 911 Targa in which he and the queen were photographed in 1973 at a petrol station in Borgholm, which is the first known picture of the royal couple. The last leg the royal couple drive in an electric car, a Volvo C30 Electric from the early 2010s.
