Margareta Thorgren said to the swedish media that Madeleine and her family plan to come home for Christmas, but the court does not give the exact time when they arrive to Sweden.

According to an interview given by the Queen to Bild, Princess Madeleine and her family arrived in Sweden today, Sunday, to spend Christmas with her parents. Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and their families will celebrate her birthday on the 23d, but will then leave to spend Christmas Eve with their respective parents-in-law.

Before Christmas, the Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar visited the Royal Opera in Stockholm to see Cinderella. Before the curtain went up, they got to meet Luiza Lopez and Jonatan Davidsson from the Royal Ballet and costume director Michael Glas.
In 2023 The Royal Opera celebrates 250 years. The opera was founded in 1773 by Gustaf III and is the national stage for opera and ballet

The King and Queen have been seen doing some Christmas shopping:
At lunchtime on Monday, the King and Queen Silvia appeared in Sickla outside Stockholm.
Followed by their bodyguards, they strolled around a number of shops. What they bought is unclear, but according to a reader, they looked at, among other things, shoes, glasses and hunting accessories.
- They looked a lot at sunglasses, he says.

"The royal family celebrates Christmas in Stockholm. All family members will spend time together during the Christmas days. The different days on which these Christmas celebrations take place can, however, be counted as private and it is nothing that we provide any information about."
On Friday, the Queen turns 79, and then the whole family will be together.
- Then Christmas begins for me. The king and I have a close relationship with our children, the queen said at Bild's interview.

Svensk Damtidning, Chris was today doing some Christmas shopping.
Chris was seen today, on Thursday, strolling along Strandvägen and on to the jewelry store Gaudy. He then left the store with a black bag in his hand.
After the visit to Gaudy, he wandered around the Christmas rush. He then continued up towards Norrmalmstorg, probably in search of more Christmas presents to put under the tree at Drottningholm.

The King and Queen attended in the afternoon Drottningholm Palace Theatre's traditional Christmas concert at Drottningholm Palace Chapel.
Svensk Damtidning writes that according to several guests, queen Silvia took her place in the stands wearing a lovely red dress, with the king at her side.

On Christmas Eve, the Crown Princess, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar visited staff at Greater Stockholm Local Transit Company's (SL) depot in Ulvsunda outside Stockholm to wish them a Merry Christmas.
Many people around Sweden work during Christmas, including in public transport.
During the visit to the Ulvsudadepot, the Crown Princess Family expressed wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the SL staff working during Christmas and the coming weekends.

Here it goes! Lucky that it says practice run on the sign.
Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar occupied the driver's compartment on the cross track when they visited Stockholm's local traffic depot in Ulvsunda on Christmas Eve.
The Crown Princess Family took the opportunity to wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the SL staff working over Christmas and the coming weekends.

The Crown Princess family met the staff, and got to see around the traffic control centre. They were also inside the tram depot and looked at the trams.
- Then we entered the carriage hall where we visited a tram that was waiting for us there. They all had to go into the driver's cab, says Petrus Sarmento, operations manager at SL.
Estelle and Oscar also handed out gifts to the staff who worked on Christmas Eve.
- There were some goodies. A little chocolate and other things that might be nice to have on Christmas Eve, says Petrus Sarmento.

The king gave his first Christmas speech in 1972, then as crown prince. This year's speech, which was thus the 50th in a row, was recorded in Princess Sibylla's apartment at the Royal Palace. The apartment is the King and Queen's representative floor at the Royal Palace.
In the Christmas speech, the King spoke, among other things, about the war in Ukraine and the coming jubilee year for Sweden.

- From Stockholm Palace to Ukraine is only a hundred miles with straight line distance. Christmas is also celebrated there. For many who live there, it is dark, cold and difficult. Parts of society's infrastructure are knocked out. People have been killed, injured and subjected to terrible suffering.
In 2008, the royal couple traveled to Ukraine. They then visited Gammalsvenskby (Old Swedish village) in the southern part of the country.
- The Russian aggression against Ukraine has hit the village hard. The road I inaugurated at the state visit has been destroyed. Electricity, water and fuel are in short supply. It feels heavy to think about this. Therefore, today I want to send a special greeting to the residents of Gammalsvenskby: my thoughts and those of my family are with you – and with all your compatriots.

This year's speech had a strong political message from a human rights perspective, so it's the first time I remember him being so politically clear, says Hedqvist. The introduction is very startling because the King directly addresses Ukraine.

Madeleine and her family usually go home to Florida at the beginning of January. That will also be the case this year. The royal family celebrates the New Year privately, and Madeleine and her family will then remain in Sweden.

The royal court changed to its calendar that Queen Silvia will receive the traditional Christmas trees from the Swedish Forestry Students' Union on Monday December 18 (not on Saturday 16 as they first listed).

I thought when it was announced that queen Silvia would receive the Christmas trees now on her birthday week, that she would do it with her grandchildren. She spoke at Julia Melchior's interview that she takes her grandchildren to school and picks them up from school, so that she can spend time with them. And at Kyrkans Tidning's interview the queen told that she prays with her grandchildren.

Margareta Thorgren confirms that queen Silvia is very happy to spend time with all the grandchildren and experience the fine tradition together.
- It is a nice and long tradition with the Christmas trees. At the same time, over the years there have been different family members who have received them. This year, with the Queen's birthday, it was planned that the Queen and all the grandchildren would be there

The deputy director of the Information department, Johan Tegel, says that the royal family will celebrate Christmas together, but the court never goes into which days they celebrate. It is of course a slightly special celebration this year in view of the Queen's 80th birthday. The royal family celebrates Christmas privately and the court is therefore not giving out any details about how they will celebrate. Tegel says that the royal family obviously thinks that it is very nice to now be able to celebrate these days together. It has been an intense year with many different activities, so it is a big and exciting year to sum up, which they now get to do together.
