South Korea President Begins State Visit to the Netherlands

At the invitation of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, the President of the Republic of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol, and the First Lady, Mrs Kim Keon Hee, started today, Tuesday December 12, a two-day state visit to the Netherlands. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima officially received the President and the First Lady with a welcoming ceremony held at Dam Square in Amsterdam. The King and the President inspected a guard of honor and the national anthems were played.
Afterwards, in the Royal Palace, took place a meeting and the Royal Couple hosted a private lunch for the Presidential Couple.
Then the President and his wife laid a wreath at the National Monument on Dam Square at the presence of Mark Rutte, the Dutch Prime Minister.
In the afternoon the King accompanied President Yoon Suk Yeol for a visit at the headquarters of the company ASML Holding, a Dutch multinational corporation founded in 1984 that “supplies technology for the production of semiconductors with lithography equipment”. During the visit the King and the President toured the facility and attended a meeting with Dutch and Korean CEOs from the high-tech sector.
The King started his speech by expressing his and the Queen’s pleasure for having the President and the First Lady as their guest. the king also praised the Republic of Korea for its “strong and open attitude” and for building “bridges to the future”
