Swedish Crown Princess Couple Starts Official Visit to Australia

Today, Monday February 13, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel began a three-day official visit to Australia.
The visit started in Canberra, the capital, at the Swedish embassy where the Crown Princess Couple was welcomed by Ambassador Pontus Melander, Sweden’s envoy to Canberra.
Then, outside the National Museum of Australia, the Crown Princess and the Prince were officially welcomed with a traditional indigenous ceremony. During the visit at the Museum they met with representatives of the indigenous population and toured the “Great Southern Land” gallery where are presents “more than 2,000 objects, and rich multi-sensory experiences to show how the continent has changed over time and how those changes can guide the nation through future challenges”.
In the afternoon the Royal Couple paid a visit to the Namadgi National Park, a protected area in the south-west of Canberra. At the park they were informed about effect of the bushfires that hit the park in 2020 and visited a rehabilitation center for koalas.
The first day in Australia ended with a dinner hosted by Governor-General General David Hurley and wife Linda Hurley at the Government House.
