On October 15, Kensington Palace announced that the Duchess of Sussex was pregnant with her first child, which is due in the spring of 2019.

Kensington Palace posted on Twitter this morning that “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019”.

The pair, who are currently on tour in Australia, were married on 19 May at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.

Unless Letters Patent are released ahead of the child’s birth, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s child will not receive the title of Prince or Princess, and will instead be known as Earl of Dumbarton if a boy, or Lady (name) Mountbatten-Windsor.
