The King, who arrived in Jordan on Monday evening, was welcomed by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan in his private residence where, after a meeting, took place a private dinner.

Yesterday, Tuesday November 15, the King, accompanied by King Abdullah, visited the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base situated in Azraq, a town in central-eastern Jordan. The Belgian Minister of Defence, Pieter De Crem was present as well.

At the airbase King Philippe and King Abdullah met with the soldiers of the Belgian Air Component who are currently working in the military operations as part of the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria along with the international coalition. Soldiers and military officials informed King Philippe and King Abdullah about the military situation and the work of the soldiers. The two sovereigns also attended fighter pilot training.

Since early July 2016, six Belgian F-16s are participating at the military operations.
