At the University of Bath Sports Training Village today, Prince Harry cheered on from the sidelines as wounded veterans battled it out for places on Britain’s team for the Invictus Games that will take place in May in Orlando.

The royal – who put together the first edition of the sporting event for injured servicemen, women and veterans in 2014 – spent much time chatting and laughing with the athletes as they prepared for their trials, even helping one participant back up after her wheelchair blew over in the wind.

Harry also made a speech at trial, saying that the Games are being “taken to a whole new level” by having them hosted in Orlando, Florida “where the weather is much nicer”. In jest, he then proclaimed “that’s why most of you are here, either that or you’ve got an obsession with Disneyland.”
