The Netherlands Takes Over the EU Presidency
To mark the start of the Dutch Presidency of the European Union, today January 7, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Máxima received the European Commission at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam.
At the reception were present Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, other members of the committee and the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, along with Dutch Ministers and members of the Government.

Prior to the visit at the Royal Palace, the Prime Minister received the members of the European Commission at the Maritime Museum in Amsterdam. The Prime Minister also had a bilateral meeting with the President of the European Commission.
The Dutch Presidency of the European Union will last for six months.
