Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum Dies of Heart Attack

Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the eldest son of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed with his first wife, Sheikha Hind, has died of a heart attack, the Dubai Media Office announced today.

The 33-year-old Sheikh, who owned the famous Zabeel Stables, died Saturday morning the announcement said. Funeral prayers were held after sunset at the Zabeel Mosque, before the Sheikh was laid to rest at the Umm Hurair cemetery.

Writing on his social media accounts, Sheikh Rashid’s brother Sheikh Hamdan said, “Today, I lost a best friend and a childhood companion. My dear brother Rashid you will be missed.”

Three days of mourning were declared by Sheikh Mohammed, who will accept condolences on Sunday and Monday at the Zabeel Palace.
