Prince Harry Spends Time In Sydney Before NZ Visit

Prince Harry has spent the final days of his military secondment with the Australian Defence Force in Sydney, today participating with a walkabout outside the Sydney Opera House.

The Prince, dressed in his combat fatigues, arrived at the Opera House via boat and was shown around the grounds by New South Wales’s Premier, Mike Baird. Around 500 people gathered at the Bennelong stairs to catch a glimpse of Harry before he heads over to New Zealand for an official visit.

Among the throngs of cheering women and grandmas – a number holding signs saying ‘Harry for PM’, ‘His Royal Hotness’ and ‘Marry Me Harry’ – were students from St Mary’s South Public School who were on an unrelated school excursion to the nearby Botanical Gardens. Prince Harry spent some time chatting with the children, who thought it was hilarious when one of their teachers was pulled up for a photo with the Prince.

Another who got the Prince’s undivided attention was war widow Daphne Dunne, who spoke with Harry and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

The Prince will also visit Macquarie University Hospital shortly.
