Prince Felipe of Spain turns 45

His Royal Highness, The Prince of Asturias turns 45 years old on Wednesday, January 30th. The heir apparent to the Spanish throne was born in Madrid to the then Prince Juan Carlos and Princess Sofia. The Prince has two older sisters, Infantas Elena and Cristina of Spain. In January 1977 he was created Prince of Asturias, the historic title held by the heir to the Spanish throne. In May 2004, Felipe married Letizia Ortiz in a glittering royal ceremony in Madrid. The couple have two daughters, Infantas Leonor and Sofia of Spain.
