Bridal Tiara Guessing for Up-coming Weddings

That really caught me by surprise! It's nice that she wore tiaras from both sides of the family. But it looks a bit like favoritism, doesn't it?

Now I can't imagine that her younger sister will wear one of the smaller tiaras from the Lux collection, but maybe she'll chose the vine leaves for the ceremony.

The big one not the small one which was used for the Weddings of Princess Marie Astrid 3 Children

Actually Archduchess Gabriella used the biggger adelaide tiara which was alosu used by Princess Marie-Gabrielle
And then it could also be a personal choice

Maybe her sister will have something similar, two tiaras, one from father side and one from mother side. They don't have many tiaras so it probably will be the Habsburg fringe from Liechtenstein side again. And the Luxembourg side, I guess the Marie Adelaide's Sapphire (which had been used by two other granddaughters of JC for wedding)? I've thought of the sapphire bracelet (which Margaretha probably owns) and JC's Diamond Floral too, but it seems too small compared to the Vine Leaves. I mean, if the weddings of your two children are just 1 week apart, you would just want to make everything fair (of course personal taste and style matter), so probably the younger will have something different but equal/similar in term of size and significance. (I wouldn't be surprised if she even shows up in same set of tiaras in her own wedding too!)

Will Princess Mako wear any tiara for her upcoming wedding?

I'm almost certain that Princess Nina will wear the antique corsage tiara. This clearly is the tiara meant for brides who marry into the family. But also is a chance that her very wealthy father will gift her a tiara of her own.

As for Princess Mako: No, I don't expect a tiara. The Japanese Princesses usually wear their tiara at a ceremonial visit to the imperial couple before the actual wedding. And I doubt that this ceremony will actually take place for Princess Mako. I also don't think that they will publish pictures of a wedding dinner or something like that.

For the actual Wedding Ceremony the bride's don't wear tiaras in Japan, because they then are wearing the historic Kimono from Centuries ago. It is only for the Audience faterwards when the go to visit them Imperial Couple.

I also espect to see the antique corsage tiara on Princess Nina on Saturday. The question is will she wearing it with the pearls on top like Marie Chantal or without like Tatiana.

I hope that she will wear it with the top pearl. The tiara looks more complete and balance with it, imho.

Princess Tatiana has also worn it with the Top Pearl later. And i believe it was also with the Top pearl by Princesses Alexia and Theodora

Yes, all of them have worn it with the top pearl at least once. I think that Alexia and Marie Chantal have only worn the version with the top pearl. Tatiana wore the version without the top pearl only at her wedding. Later she wore it twice with the top pearl. And Theodora has worn the full version only once, at Frederik's 50th birthday gala.

It would have been a surprise if she had worn something else.? The only serious question was: with or without the top pearl. I'm quite happy that she wore the complete tiara.:D

Maria Laura's wedding tiara will be very interesting, because there are several tiaras in both sides of her family. I assume that the tiaras of her paternal grandmother AD Margherita are also available for her. There are

- the bandeau tiara that Princess Margherita and her two daughters wore for their weddings
- the stunning choker-bandeau tiara which hadn't been seen as a tiara in about a century until Countess Olympia of Arco-Zinneberg wore it at her wedding
- the Sayoy Aosta scroll tiara usually reserved for Princess Astrid, until Countess Anna Therese of Arco-Zinneberg borrowed it for her wedding
- might there be anything else stacked away, that we haven't seen for decades?

I somehow think that she will chose a tiara with a Belgian connection, that is the art deco bandeau, or the Savoy Aosta tiara, which Princess Astrid has worn in her capacity as a Belgian princess. It might be a question of her personal taste: the sleek and clear art deco design, or the more ornate and frilly scroll design? And does she want for herself a looks that is different from her sister-in-law Elisabetta's wedding look? Or did the family decide to make the art deco tiara their traditional wedding tiara which is to be worn by all the brides?

Currently, I tend to think that Maria Laura is going to wear the art deco bandeau, but I'm by now means sure.

Or perhaps a tiara from her mother side for the ceremony and from her fathers side for the celebrations afterwards (or vice versa).

Her mother, Princess Astrid, wore no diadem at all at her wedding. See picture.
Also that is a possibility.

If she does wear the Elisabeth bandeau it means that it is less likely that it was given as an 18th birthday present to the Duchess of Brabant, as some of us were hoping.

Good point. Let's see Astrid is going to start a family wedding tradition or has gifted it to her niece.

I'm guessing neither the Savoy-Aosta Scroll or no tiara like her mother. Or maybe turn the gorgeous Savoy-Aosta Emerald necklace into a tiara/headpiece :D.

I am sure She will wear Queen Paola family Veil and Queen Paola's Deco tiara .
But Prince lorenz is the Owner of the Savoie tiara ???

It's not publicly known who owns the Savoy Aosta tiara. But I'm convinced that it either already is owned by Lorenz, or he is going to inherit he. After all, AD Lorenz is the eldest son, and his wife Princess Astrid already has permanent access to the tiara and the sapphire necklace. It's certainly available for the Princess to wear at her wedding, if she wants to. On the other hand I believe that the art deco design fits better with Maria Laura's usual style of dress, so I think that she will chose it.

When it was worn by Countess Anna Theresa of Arco-Zinneberg it was mentioned by one of the Jewel-Experts (don't remember the name) that the tiara is now owned by Prince Lorenz who had loaned it to his niece.

Perhaps it will also depend which tiaras are available for Maria Laura. If the art deco bandeau was really gifted to the Duchess of Brabant it is perhaps not available for Maria Laura and she has no choice.

If she does , will it be yet another sign that the tiara has been now given to Princess Astrid and is no longer available to the main royal line ?

Not quite, or so I would like to believe! It can just be Paola lending her tiara to her grandchildren to wear for specific events.

Likely but then it has also worn by Princess Astrid once for an incoming State Visit. The best would be a Trust or something and then the tiaras can be be shared by the woman of the RF for Events if they need one.

That what I would also be inclined to think too ,its such a shame the Belgian RF are so jewel poor.
