Meghan Markle's Wedding Dress

We all have our different likes and dislikes but for me she is wearing a gown that resonates with royalty, hints of Lady Sarah, one of my favourite gowns. The bateau neck is gorgeous on her. Everything is gorgeously understated, the veil is amazing and the perfect tiara is the cherry on top.

Meghan looks wonderful. Beautiful tiara. The dress compliments the bride, simple and elegant. Not loving the sleeves.

This look will age well. Meghan was eviscerated for her engagement dress so I can only imagine the uproar if she had dared to wear something “fancy” for her wedding, especially since she’s only marrying the sixth in line to the throne as we have been frequently reminded. I barely noticed the dress to tell you the truth because Meghan herself is so beautiful.

Dissapointed !!

She’s marrying in windsor chapel in front of a huge audience all over world . This was a time to go all out and get a beautiful gown . Guess this is her style and she doesnt bother enough to put in much effort .

But heartearming to see Harry so in love !

Am i the only one who thinks her dress is ill fitted ?

She wore what she wanted and loved that is what is important. Simple and understated is her style it would have been odd if she suddenly wore some over the top gown.

She did go all out. Unfortunately she would have to have 30 or more dresses to please everyone. Some people obviously need a fairy tale princess gown for her to have 'put in the effort'. Some love the beautiful architecture and design.

As long as the bride is happy, that is what matters.

Nothing about the look, simple or not, says no effort was made.

I don't like the dress it is so plain and those sleeves the top is just a little off maybe she lost weight and it doesn't fit her as well. The tiara is great and the veil is nice could do with some sparkle. I find a lot of her choices a little too low key and casual. I don't think we will see many brides running and getting this look.

Absolutely true!

I hope we do see more brides dressed like this , classy and tasteful no boobs , strapless or or lace please.

Woweee.....wonder if it's a present from Prince Charles.

I thought Meghan's gown simple, classic, understated, and loved the veil. No lace, thank God!

Well done - this hits it out of the park for me. I adore the neckline. The fabric.

But most of all love the very modern cropped train, with that wonderful veil floating over it. It's a great example of Meghan's ability to make classic choices and then just find a way to tweek them.

And the jewels are spectacular!

The veil is lovely frames her faces wonderfully ....dress is ok not my favourite but she looks very happy x x

The dress was a miss for me especially after all the hype and buildup. Liked the tiara though.

I think she looks divine. Too many people, I believe, confuse simplicity for "boring," and that to me is wrong. She has never been an overly fussy, ornate, or ostentatious dresser in her personal life, so why would she choose a wedding gown that looked like that? I think brides look their best when their dresses reflect their own personal style, not the style everyone thinks they should wear.

Yes, it's a royal wedding and yes, she's now a duchess, but that doesn't mean she has to show up with a dress dripping in lace and spangles and whatever else.

The least the designer (of given by) could have done is made a well fitted gown . But this one the sleeves and chest waist area are quite loose !

Good structural design was what Sarah burton did .

Makes me think the designer had not much idea about bridal line .

Absolutely loved her dress and veil and the tiara she wore with it. Very elegant.

I wonder if she's lost a little weight over the last few days (wedding nerves). She is so slender that losing even a little weight would alter the fit of the dress.

With all the stress she has had to handle , I think she probably lost weight in the last week. For those who think the gown wasn't fit properly.

The Queen Mary Fligree Tiara was perfect for thr simple design of her wedding gown.

I wasn't surprised by the dress... very much her style and beautiful !

Likely, or the queen. The royal brides tend to get some gift from the royals.

Kate got an art deco bracelet and earrings from Charles for her wedding gift. She didn't wear on the wedding though.

I loved her dress; it was PERFECTLY elegant and timeless. I loved the neckline with no necklace and simple earrings, and of course the tiara. The veil was the show stopper with the hand-embroidered flowers from each of the 53 counties in the Commonwealth.

I've never been a fan of strapless wedding dresses, so I love the long fitted sleeves.

i agree, the dress to me was rather underwhelming. i remember how i liked seeing kate's dress and how i thought about grace kelly's royal glamour when i saw it but i didn't get a similar reaction on meghan's. i thought it was too plain looking.

the hair was the biggest disappointment to me as it released from the bun and came down meghan's face, which made it look messy. i hope someone fixes it for her before the banquet.

i would also have enjoyed seeing a british / commonwealth designer for the dress rather than a french maison. i remember william and kate having a private dinner on the wedding day - will this also happen for harry and meghan? maybe she will change into something british made.

I think the scale and design of the dress was perfect and the image of them walking through the archway into the Nave was a stunning view of the gown. The symbolism of every flower in the Commonwealth on the veil was a clever and beautiful idea.

I especially like the fact that the two pageboys carried veil for her, which reminded me of the Queen's wedding where two pageboys carried her train. I was also immeasurably pleased that they let the veil go just as Harry and Maghan went down the steps of St George's Chapel allowing it to flow down the steps like a waterfall.

I thought she looked beautiful. I liked the dress with the veil. The intent was clearly to have a simpler wedding dress with a magnificent veil that carry it over. The wow is meant to be in the veil. I liked the shape of the dress. I liked the neckline, and the sleeve. THANK GOD FOR NO SHEATH! And I thought if the dress had been more elaborate, it would clash. I loved that shot of her on the steps going into the church, and the veil looked like it was covering her entirely.

Yep totally agree jacqui....great look.
