German nobility expert Rolf Seelmann-Eggebert, 82, has a very special relationship with Swedish Crown Princess Victoria.
"Whenever I meet her, I bring her Lübeck marzipan, which she likes so much", he reveals in an interview with GALA. "When she was here in Hamburg at the Museum of Ethnology, I pushed her a pack under the table, from lap to lap so to speak. Then her eyes got very bright".

Article about Victoria in finnish family magazine Seura in June

Crown Princess Victoria is dedicated to her family, climate issues and sustainable development issues
To the Swedish crown princess Victoria family, children and work are the core of everyday happiness. A middle-aged Victoria is preparing for her future role as the monarch of her country.
Warm smile, friendly, stylish and confident. Such is the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria.
In July, Victoria is 42 years old. She has become a middle-aged woman living with young children, the pieces of her life have fallen into places.
The keys to Victoria's everyday happiness are family, people close to her and interesting work.
Victoria has often recalled how she as a child missed her parents, who, due to their work, were forced to be far away from home; they were king and queen. The situation in Victoria's own family is different. She can devote herself fully to her children, because as a crown princess, her work is not so demanding and comprehensive.
Family - spouse, Prince Daniel, and children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar - are the most important in the world for Victoria. This quartet is also likely to be the next royal family in Sweden because there will hardly be born any more children in the family.
Daniel is a loyal and supportive partner for his wife. The sympathetic Daniel understands his position as the spouse of a future monarsch and accepts his place in the background of his wife.
Possible inherited dyslexia of their children is a matter of great thought by their parents.
Victoria and Daniel have talked a lot about each other and wondered how they can best support their children.
“We have begun to learn letters with them early, but in a fun way. We read a lot for them, because reading books, singing and rhyming are important to the child", Victoria told in a TV interview.
Victoria's job is to represent her country and the royal house in Sweden and abroad, and she is conscientious and hard-working. The work is inspiring, and yet she doesn't have to worry about the fate of the whole nation.
Work involves a lot of travel. In May, Victoria and Daniel visited Vietnam. The visit was organized in honor of the fact that 50 years ago in 1969, Sweden was the first Western country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Her office gives Victoria the opportunity to draw the attention of the public to matters which she considers important. Recently, Victoria has been dedicated to climate issues and sustainable development issues. Climate affairs are the common interest for Victoria and her father, as they were raised by the king in the 1970s.
When Victoria one day rises to the throne of Sweden, she inherits a centuries-old history of the country of whose kings 70 are known by name.
The king, who was only 27 years old when he became the monarch, made history a year ago in April since he is now the monarch longest time on the Swedish throne.
Victoria is very popular in her home country. The Swedes have often asked with impatience how long they still have to wait for the crown princess to become a queen. Probably long. The Bernadottes live old and 73-year-old Carl Gustaf is in excellent shape. Nor does he have the slightest intention to give up his position even though the people have sometimes demanded it.
"The Bernadottes have no habit of resigning", the king said a few years ago.
The king will also not and can not even retire, because here is the core of the monarchy: the king is in power until he dies, and immediately after that the heir to the throne replaces him.
If the king were to retire, at the same time something of the royal mysticism that royals have would vanish. Or at least that is thought in Sweden.

An article in Svensk Damtidning last week

Svensk Damtidning's article "Be as strong as the crown princess – Train like Victoria!"
Health, sport and life in the nature unite Victoria and Daniel today and the common interest strengthens their love.
- Victoria is in better shape than I am myself, Prince Daniel noted recently.
He should know. Daniel has been the Crown Princess's personal trainer and has a basic training education from Safe. And he has been involved in establishing a gym chain. Daniel was the man who trimmed Victoria in shape. And of course he succeeded. With love and good training tips, he got Sweden's future queen to go to the history as the princess with the best posture, the best looking back and the best figure.
- Throughout the winter, Victoria trained with Daniel five times a week. They ran rock-solid workouts at the gym. He is extremely impressed with how purposeful she is, a friend of the Crown Princess recently told.
Victoria is now more beautiful and stronger than ever! Yes, she looks like health herself and in spite of her representation program never renounces her training.
Prince Daniel is the pure "health prince" and makes sure to eat right and exercise regularly. He has taught Victoria everything he can in strength training and body control. Victoria sets the bar high and has an ability to make that very last effort - without ever complaining or giving up.
We have seen her hike long distances on her province hikes. There she herself made sure to combine work with exercise. She loves to be outdoors.
- Why should you sit still, when it is possible to move? she has said.
As the King Victoria is extremely interested in nature. As a mother, she also sees to it that Estelle and Oscar have a lot of physical activity booked in the schedule. Estelle dances and plays tennis and has gone golf course. Little Oscar kicks ball and runs around and plays in the large garden at Haga.
Our future queen goes in for health and training 100 percent. There are several residents around Solna and Brunnsviken who are impressed by how the Crown Princess is up early and runs in beautiful Hagaparken.
- When I'm on my early morning walks in Hagaparken, I often meet Victoria, who takes a run. The bodyguards have a hard time keeping up with her pace, says an eyewitness to Svensk Damtidning.
Before Victoria had children, she took care that the hotels she stayed on when she was traveling had a gym.
In her home gym at Haga Palace, she makes her routine every morning. She has a strength training program, which she follows. The super gym at Haga is sacred to the Crown Princess and Daniel. This is where they shape their well-trained bodies and retrieve mental power and energy.
But physical exercise doesn't only affect to the appearance. Victoria and Daniel know that you feel so much better mentally also after a hard workout.
In addition, both use body exercises to stop nervousness. Prince Daniel revealed his own tip for Svenska Dagbladet to keep the nerves in check before the wedding:
- You flex any body part and then relax it.
The Crown Princess holds out her fingers on both hands three times in a row. Hastily. Strongly. Many actors of Dramaten have tamed their premiere nerves like that. Victoria gets also calm by breathing deeply, she has told to Svenska Dagbladet.
In the summer the Crown Princess family goes to Solliden, which has a calming effect on Victoria who relaxes and enjoys 100 percent when she is there. Victoria and Daniel train as hard as usual. There will be many jogging rounds at Alvaret. When the heat becomes too intrusive, long walks will suffice. Golf and horseback riding are also on the agenda, there are many ways to keep in shape, not least by swimming lengths in the lovely pool.
Super gym at Haga: It is one of the Palace's most important rooms, which is said to be clean and fresh, with mirrors on the walls and an arsenal of free weights, barbells, treadmills and pilates balls.

The Swedish Embassy in Singapore tells at its Twitter:
During his visit to #Singapore in May HRH Prince Daniel planted a tree at the Swedish ambassador’s residence ⁦The tree, Milletia borneensis, is a rare species native #SEA under threat from urbanisation. The tree is growing beautifully!

Victoria and Daniel took Estelle to a concert with Metallica at Ullevi in Gothenburg on Tuesday, even if children under 13 years of age were not allowed to attend due to the high sound level (to protect their hearing). Now the environment agency in Gothenburg is examining the visit, as there are no exceptions to the rule. https://www.aftonbladet.se/nojesblad...nget-tillstand
There are other parents who are angry why their children wasn't allowed in, while the organizers and arena owners made an exception for the royal princess.

Looks like that was a very rare false step, however, it is probable that she had the pink ear protectors that were obtained for her when she attended her first loud concert. Having shown a concern for her hearing it seems unlikely that they would ignore it now.

Nice to see that Estelle did indeed have ear protectors.

Good to see that they haven't forgotten about the protective gear.

But even so, other children wouldn't have been allowed in even if they had brought the same headphones and made the same argument with the venue staff I guess...

It's not about if Estelle wore her ear protectors or not, it's about that there seems to be one set or rules for royals (and they can chose to break rules that are in place to protect children), and another set of rules for "ordinary" people. As the group that "owns" the arena don't have got any exceptions for allowing children to be at the arena during concerts, if it's found that the noise level was to high in the place where Estelle was, they will have to pay a fine, regardless if she was wearing ear protectors or not. The same rules apply to all people, regardless of status. If the royals can't, or want, adhere to rules and laws, then it's perhaps better that Sweden becomes a republic!

Calling for a republic because a princess went to a Metallica concert seems a bit drastic.

0oh I wasn't defending them merely happy that at least Estelle had her ear defenders.

I thought it an uncharacteristic mistep to take Estelle where children are legally banned. They broke the law about how old a child to be before being considered old enough.

So bring on the fines because the of who they are ?]

Have you heard of the expression The final straw? When I joined this site in 2011 I was still positive towards the monarchy, and the Swedish royal family, but those positive feelings towards the present members of the family have disappeared during these years, as well as my respect for them. Victoria was the final member of the family I still saw in a positive light, but even that is waning. If there was to be a referendum of monarchy or republic today, my vote would be republic.

Not because who they are, but regardless of who they are. That everyone is equal when it comes to legal matters is one of the principles in the Basic Laws of Sweden. https://sv.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Likhetsprincipen

Not only did Estelle wear ear defenders but the family were in an enclosed box to protect from the sound. I saw a photo of she and Daniel inside the box and she was wearing her ear defenders. It's nice to see that sometimes things are not as bad as they look.

I agree with those who think it was a misstep to use royal privilege in this case. There is no reason at all why princess Estelle should be allowed while all other children were not. Whether they took care of noise levels in a correct way isn't the question imo (although I am glad they did). Other parents could have taken appropriate measures as well but could not bring their children. So, a (rare) misstep indeed.

And... Estelle has just learned good ole’ entitlement and her wants matter more than rules. Makes one wonder how often this has happened and just never got found out.

They had to be 13 years of age or older, so Estelle was six years too young.

Yes, I agree with everyone here. Bad decision to bring Estelle, whose age aren't permitted inside. Even though she wore ear protection and was in the box, kids her age were still not allowed for this type of concert. If Estelle can, why the other children can't? Because she is a princess? This type of gossip will bring people to say that the royals aren't bound by law and that they can do whatever they please...not good...

Prince Daniel patron of basketball
His Royal Highness Prince Daniel is now the patron of the Swedish Basketball Federation.
- It is an honor and we are of course very pleased that Prince Daniel wants to get involved in the basketball in Sweden, says Mats Carlson, chairman of SBBF.
The patronage is for three years and means that Prince Daniel promotes the activities of the Swedish Basketball Federation in various ways.
After the success of the women's national team in the basketball European Championship, this is the next happy message for Swedish Basket. Prince Daniel's decision to accept the request naturally comes in handy at a time when Sweden is looking for basketball European Championships 2021 but also when the basketball interest is growing.
- I have in conversation with Prince Daniel heard how positive he looks at the role of basketball in the socio-economically vulnerable areas and how we can promote public health in other target groups than those who already are doing sport a lot. I think the basketball has an important role in Swedish society and that is something we must care for, says Secretary General Johan Stark.
When a royal person accepts a patronage, it means that the royal person promotes the activities of the association, the institution or the organization. This can be done in different ways.
Prince Daniel is a patron of, among other things, a Swedish Classic, Heart-Lung Foundation and a A Healthy Generation Foundation.

Secretary General Johan Stark is also from Ockelbo.

Environmental management's statement after the Metallica concert
The municipality requested answers after Ullevi released Princess Estelle, 7, at a concert with a 13-year limit
Princess Estelle did not stay at the audience during the Metallica concert at Ullevi.
Therefore, the municipality of Gothenburg doesn't object people under the age of 13 being in potentially high volume.
The law that regulates sound volume during concerts applies to public audiences, but Princess Estelle stayed in a space that the organizer Live Nation used as a workroom during Metallica's gig at Ullevi.
Therefore, Gothenburg's environmental management doesn't object to the noise level during the Metallica concert, despite the fact that Princess Estelle is 7 years old and the age limit for the gig was set to 13 years and thus allowed higher sound volumes than what is approved at children's permits.
“The administration notes that the site in question was a room that the organizer uses in its business activities. It is therefore no public space and is therefore not included in the environmental administration's supervisory area”, it is stated in the decision that the environmental management announced on Friday on Got Event.
In a press release, the responsible environmental inspector Yusra Moshtat notes that the noise levels during the Metallica concert fulfilled the requirements for a gig with an age limit of 13 years.
- On the way out from the concert, however, I got to know that a child under the age of 13 has been at the concert and then the matter becomes more complicated. We have investigated the room the child was in during the concert and that room is not part of the audience area but a room that Got Event has given to Live Nation to work in during the preparations for the concert. Our mission is to control the sound levels in the audience area, says Yusra Moshtat in the press release.
The environmental management emphasizes that they did not work differently in this matter than others.
- We have worked as we always do. In this case, it means that we have an assignment to supervise the operators' own control of noise levels and the tobacco legislation, says environmental inspector Yusra Moshtat.
- We have the mission to protect human health, that is, to reduce the risk of hearing damage and that non-smokers are exposed to tobacco smoke. When we have been on supervision, we analyze what we have measured and seen and then communicate it with the operator, she says.
Since the space where Estelle and the Crown Princess couple stayed during the concert was not to be considered a box, but as the concert organizer Live Nation put it in a text message to Nöjesbladet "a place on Ullevi that is not available for sale at events", so it doesn't belong under the Gothenburg City Environmental Management's review area.
