So what is she really like – the Haga Princess Estelle of our time?
– I have met her a few times and she is a carefree, happy and open and curious young girl. At least she has been when I have had the opportunity to meet her. I recognize a lot of the Crown Princess in her.
She also drops a minor bombshell:
– Everyone thinks Estelle is named Estelle after Estelle Bernadotte. She doesn't! Her parents say, "We thought it was a beautiful name. We didn't have a thought about the previous Estelle Bernadotte."

Slowly but surely, the Crown Princess couple is introducing their daughter into the public. She has been with her parents in a work context since she was a couple of years old.
Estelle has been encouraged to try out different sports, basketball and dance have been the main focus.
Estelle has several close friends. One of them is Bonnie Sundin, daughter of hockey star Mats Sundin, she is in the same class. The girls are incredibly similar and it is difficult to tell them apart when you see them from a distance. Their parents have also become friends. Mats and Daniel have been seen together with their daughters at both concerts and sporting events.
Estelle and Bonnie share an interest in both basketball and dance. Estelle started dancing when she was four years old. And she has been playing basketball since before she was nine. She is a member of a basketball club in a nearby municipality where she has many friends.
The birthday falls on the day before the winter/sports holiday and is a perfect start to the school break.

A nice present from the County Administrative Board of Östergötland to its duchess:
Today, Princess Estelle turns 13. Ahead of her birthday, the County Administrative Board of Östergötland has sent a telegram and a basketball jersey from Norrköping Dolphins ladies as a gift.
– We have understood that Princess Estelle likes to play basketball. Since we have successful basketball teams in the county, we wanted to give the Princess something on that theme this year, says Acting County Governor Ann Holmlid.
The jersey is signed by players from the Norrköping Dolphins ladies team. The basketball jersey has the Princess's first name and the somewhat unusual player number 011.
– The County Administrative Board always looks forward to visits from the Royal House, not least from the Duchess of Östergötland, Princess Estelle, whom we all congratulate on her birthday, says Ann Holmlid.
