Count how many pictures Mary has that pucker mouth going. Perhaps she'll see them herself and stop doing it. That dress was nice, but let her borrow some jewelry.

I have a few questions - in regards to Mary - here that it would be nice to get an apprecation of feedback on, ladies :
1.) The dress, is it teal or on it GREMB it looks green ?
2.) Mary is the only one I see who is wearing a solid color dress .... does this compliment her ?
3.) What is with the absence of jewelry ?
- a necklace would have made imo a plain beauty a beautiful beauty.
- a tiara would have done wonders.
4.) The hair style would have gone well with some jewelry adornments ?
5.) Her dress is not what I would call so very complimentary of her upper body ?
6.) The absence of jewelry and plainish dress .. is that a sign of determined spirit and own budget in the face of advisor's advice ?

Hi!
Thanks for the great pics! Personally, I think Mary's hair and make-up is just too harsh. She needs to soften her look. Perhaps go for a softer hairstyle and more natural make-up. She's an attractive lady, and should highlight her natural beauty. (Not keen on the off the shoulder dress either - would like to see her in something more formal looking)..

That is Mary's statement on display to protest the failure of the royal family to give her any jewels.

I would say that Mary's dress is emerald green, not teal. Teal would imply more blue. But as they are pictures from various press sources, it's hard to pin point exactly unless you are up close and personal with the dress. Solid colours are less fussy, hence, jewellery would've made a nice accent. Perhaps if the dress had been with a pattern and busy enough, the need for jewellery wouldn't seem to perilous.
Lots of women with smaller upper bodies can pull off strapless dresses, just as long as the dresses are tailored and altered to the woman's body. Mary's dress was a bit too loose at the top, so perhaps there wasn't time to have alterations made?

Time ?
Are we confirming here that the dress was bought off the rack ?

The dress would have looked alot better IMHO, if she had some proper undergarments on. It looked like it didn't fit well around the hip area either. That dress could have been altered in time, hey if you can get rush jobs in NW Ohio, I am positive the future CP could have.

Looking at Mary in her third dress of one colour, reminds me of the Bernadotte sisters when they first 'came out' ... also in one colour outfits.
... suppose it takes time for the person to become accustomed to a bottomless pocket book (where potentially spectacular dresses are concerned) ?

I think this is her best overall look.
Although I may be in the minority in thinking I liked the green color on her :)

On the occasion of this State Visit, I gather HRH Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg handed out a grand total of 60 orders and decorations.

I would have to say this is the best outfit I have seen Mary in. It wouldn't hurt her to find designs and patterns that work with her. I like the way she wears her hair and the coat she is wearing looks fabulous! If Mary ever reads any of these posts, I hope she realizes that we criticise her because we like her and we want her to look as good as she possibly can.

Mary looks ok there. I guess she prefers earth tone colors (brown, green, black) rather than energetic colors of Queen Marguerit

I have to agree with those of you who've said the last outfit of Mary's has been her best. Black looks good on most people, and it certainly works for Mary, especially with all that dark hair of her's. Sometimes black can wash out pale people, myself included, but a lot of times it can work for them, too. And I think it does in Mary's case.
Mary and Frederik attended a wedding before their engagement was announced in which she wore a bright pink dress that also looked good with her skin colouring, so perhaps bright colours, like the ones her future mother-in-law favours, could work for Mary, too. Some additional colours that may work for Mary: deep plum or aubergene, burgundy, ruby - all the deep, rich jewel tones, in addition to earth tones.

I think she needs to hook up with some fashion people, who can help her pick out clothes that work well and photograph well. She looked good at the announcement, nice outfit and nice makeup.
