The dinner collected 717.000 euros for the cause. Mabel was accompanied by Viktor & Rolf, and by her sister Nicoline. Former vice prime minister Wouter Bos attended the diner too, as did many 'celebrities', like top model Doutzen Kroes. Another guest was Martine van Loon-Labouchere, grand mastress of the Queen.

Sorry to be catty, but Mabel doesn't look like she is aging well. Maybe its the closeup.

So the family is now living in the UK...thats great. Its a shame there haven't been an full Dutch family outings (like christenings, marriages, etc.). Its been a while since the girls have been spotted out and about. Thats bad for us but good that they are growing up with some sort of privacy. Can't have it both ways I suppose.

Well, since they are not a member of the royal house it seems sensible to keep them out of the limelight as much as possible. Perhaps they will show up at the wedding of the duke and duchess of Parma if one of them is asked to be a bridesmaid (which is not known). Princess Christina did the same with her children, they are almost completely anonimous people.

About the aging: she is 42 already. So without a lot of make-up I think this is what most Dutch women will look like from up close. And added to that, she never has been a natural beauty anyway.

Princess Mabel participated in a project of Amnesty international called 'Reach out your hand to Myanmar' (steek je hand uit naar Myanmar). In the project people take pictures of themselves with the name of one of the 2000 political prisoners in Myanmar written on their hand. Mabel's picture:

Prince Friso and Princess Mabel have been interviewed by the magazine 'Libelle', mainly about their ideals and about how to make the world a better place.. Discussing issues from sustainability to ways to prevent child marriages. But they also discuss the way they raise their daughters Luana and Zaria.

Mabel tells that one day she told Luana that the children in Africa were suffering from hunger. Luana suggested to send what was left of their food to Africa. The next morning Luana and Zaria went to thei parents bedroom to ask them if they actually did send it to Africa.

Mabel says that it is important to hand children the tools to survive in an ever more complex world. Mabel says that they need to make mistakes to build confidence. And she seems to find it a way to get 'success' (whatever she means with that).

Friso says that within the family they also discuss how to be sustainable etc. As an example he says that one airtravel less per year makes a difference and that it is not neccesairy to eat meat every day.

Friso says that his parents always worked very hard and that way they showed them that things didn't happen by themselves but that you need to work hard to achieve things. He is happy that he was able to go to a normal school. Prince Claus was the 'visionairy' of the family, because of him Friso was able to study in Delft and start his carreer.

The author of royalblog notes ironically that the prince and princess are presented as 'modern day angels' ;).

Any news on Prince Friso's condition? I just read that he was in an avalanche.

is hes condition change?

No. His doctors announced last week that there was severe brain damage and that it's unlikely he'll ever regain his full functionality again.

It's very, very sad news.

he is awake? and when u say full function does that mean walking & talking?

he is awake? and when u say full function does that mean walking & talking?

No, he's not awake. There's a chance he might not ever wake up again. That's what I meant.

The doctors did a scan and realized his brain is very damaged.
