Letizia is absolutely gorgeous!!!!

It's weird that the first lady did not wear a long dress!

Letizia looks charming!!! She overshadowed the whole gala. She wore great jewels: big diamonds earings (her favourite since few months) and Cartier diamond bracelet.

Royal ladies looked lovely especially Letizia.

what was really cute was that Felipe was trying to grab Letizia's hand but she had her handbag in that hand so it kind of looked awkward for a moment. :flowers:

Letizia's dress at the Dominican dinner smokin'! I think it's one of the best I've ever seen on her (maybe second to the red one she wore at the Danish royal wedding).

But what happened to the poor First Lady? Didn't they tell her a long dress was in order, or are the Dominicans practicing economy?

Bullfight of the Beneficence in the Bullring of Madrid

The Prince and the Princess were representing in official act, and the Infanta Elena and Jaime de Marichalar of private form.

for me it is always strange to see the royals enjoing the bullfights.
i know it is a traditional thing.
i only saw a bullfight one time. for me as someone who was not born in spain and didnt grow up there, but in germany, it was really hard to watch this. i didn't like it and could not enjoy a single minute. my boyfriend , who is a born spanish, loved it and he saw it more then one time. for me it was just cruelty against the bulls...
are there members of the spanish royal family who don't like the fights?
maybe queen sofia? she wasn't born in spain either and didn't grow up with this tradition either (like me).

Queen Sofia hates bullfigths. Besides to have been born and grown up in another country, she is a defending of animal rights. That´s because of I´m surprised to see so many members of the Royal Family attending this event. I think that the Queen won´t be glad to see it.
On the other hand, the King and Infanta Elena love to attend bullfights. I don´t know about the Princes...
I totally understand foreign people who doesn´t like bullfighting. I´m Spanish and I hate it :nonono: I can´t stand to think that it´s a image of Spain abroad...:bang::bang:

Cristina doesn't go either. It's a traditional thing so if people like it it should be respected although I believe the enthusiasm for bullfight in Spain is in sharp decline as the younger generation doesn't bother anymore for obvious reasons. Many countries have traditons on the verge of animal cruelty and are being questioned, rightly so.

Letizia and Felipe went to a bullfight shortly before their marriage

If Letizia didn't like it it was her chance at that time to say no, like Queen Sofia, but maybe she likes it or didn't want to offend anyone in the beginning. Felipe as the future Spanish King not going might sound offensive for some people = not following or breaking with tradition of his country and might harm his image, but maybe he simply likes it, who knows.
