There was controversy about the flag that was being delivered as it was very expensive, 60.000 Euros as Civil Guard association claimed.

It was also noted that Letizia did not wear long black dress with peineta & mantilla but an ordinary dress, breaking with tradition

IMO it si a stormin a teapot... and it's not Letizia's "fault" if the flag is considered expensive... It doesn't come from her...really

A beautiful speech by Queen Letizia where she states the importance of "INSTITUTO CERVANTES" an association that is represented in many countries and cities of the world to preserve the richness and culture of the Spanish Language and to help students around the world that want to learn the Spanish language. The second speaker the President of the Galicia Province (equivalent of a Governor in our U.S.A.) said "In Galicia, we are blessed with two beautiful languages, the Spanish language and the Gallician language". How great to see also Queen Letizia visit the expo! Hope she was prepared for the hot weather though!
 
These moments are always sad. Letizia will want to be with your family.
 
He was born when Alfonso XIII was already 15 years on the throne, saw the RF exiled, lived through the dark years under the civil war and Franco and then saw the return of the Borbons with his granddaughter later marrying the heir, wow. Maybe there is hope he will celebrate his 100th, but it doesn't looks like it :(
