After 33 years - now Johnny Ludvigsson resigns as chairman
He founded the Child Diabetes Foundation as early as 1989. Johnny Ludvigsson is now resigning as chairman of the Foundation. The 78-year-old will in the future focus on his research on type 1 diabetes.
In connection with the Child Diabetes Foundation's annual meeting on 6 April, it became clear that Johnny Ludvigsson, senior professor of pediatrics at Linköping University and one of the world's top ten top type 1 diabetes researchers, is leaving his position as chairman of the board. Johnny has been in the post since he founded the Child Diabetes Foundation in January 1989 and is now honorary chairman of the Foundation.
In connection with the meeting, the Child Diabetes Foundation's patron, HRH Crown Princess Victoria, sent a greeting to Johnny in which she thanked him for his involvement in the fight against type 1 diabetes.

The Child Diabetes Foundation was one of the first organizations for which Victoria accepted patronage. This was in 1993 and she was 16 years old. A few years earlier, a close friend of Victoria had been diagnosed with diabetes type 1.

At Västergården's preschool in Arboga municipality, the children wrote to the royal family and received a reply from Crown Princess Victoria.
- A girl was very interested in princesses and had many different questions. We asked if she believed or knew that there really are princesses? She thought they were only on film and in fairy tales. But, we explained and showed pictures of the royal family, the princesses and told what their names are. We also found out that you can send a letter to the Crown Princess and did so, says Monica Mellgren.
All the children had to come up with different questions which they then wrote together. The children were allowed to put the letter in an envelope with an address and a stamp on it. When they were to post the letter, there were many thoughts about the meaning and postage of the stamp: How do they find the right one? How does the postman know where we live? How will the Crown Princess receive our letter? After just a few weeks, they received a response from the royal family with a beautiful envelope, a photograph of Victoria's family and a nice letter where she told about the work that the royal family does and suggested to go the court website where children could find more information about the royal family and their work.

Victoria got the Swedish Soldiers Homes Association's Medal in Gold no 1 (Svenska Soldathemsförbundet) in May 2021.
The Swedish Soldiers' Home Association's annual congress was held digitally on 19-20 May 2021.
This was the first year that the Swedish Soldiers Homes Association's medal in gold and silver, instituted in 2020, was awarded to 16 employees and elected representatives. Earlier in May, the Association's patron, H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria, got medal no 1.

The Crown Princess, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar pay attention to the Nordic Coastal Clean-Up Day
On Saturday, May 7, the Nordic Coastal Clean-Up Day (Kusträddardagen) is arranged. To draw attention to this, Victoria, Estelle and Oscar picked up garbage earlier this week along the shores of the Royal Djurgården.
This Day is arranged for the sixth year in a row by organization Keep Sweden Tidy. More than 50,000 Swedes have expressed interest in this year's campaign and are participating by picking up garbage along the sea and watercourses.

The goal is to attract as many people as possible to pick up garbage on their nearest beach, something Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar obeyed. Margareta Thorgren even speculated openly to Expressen that the rumor was disseminated deliberately.

Daniel has been a member The Swedish Ski Association's Jury of choosing "All on Snow Leaders of the Year".
During the season, 1,000 new leaders have spread the joy of snow around the country. To draw attention to what a fantastic job they do, we hand out the award "All on Snow Leaders of the Year". The 2022 winners are Andreas Rydahl, David Lindström and Elsa Leiknes.
The jury consisting of representatives from, among others, our main partners OBOS and Vattenfall, representatives from All on Snow Council and HRH Prince Daniel has had a tough job of nominating only three winners.

Svensk Damtidning tells that Victoria, Daniel and the children are spending a long weekend in Solliden at their Villa Skönvik and celebrate Mother's Day there tomorrow. On Thursday was Ascension Day and yesterday it was a day off at the schools in Stockholm.
Tomorrow Victoria will be properly celebrated by the family on Mother's Day, with strawberry cake and probably one or two presents. According to Svensk Damtidning's sources, Daniel has arranged fresh Öland strawberries for the cake via Boman's market shop in Borgholm and the owner Pelle.

Victoria and Daniel attended today a wedding, their good friend Jacob de Geer got married with Faye Flensburg on Marstrand.

The entrepreneur and "Draknästet" profile Jacob De Geer, 46 and Faye Flensburg, 34, said yes to each other at the lighthouse Pater Noster.
Jacob De Geer and co-founder Magnus Nilsson earned a fortune when they sold their debit card solution Izettle to American Paypal for SEK 19 billion. Since last year, De Geer has been seen as one of the business angels in SVT's "Draknästet"
Baron Jacob De Geer and his family have been close friends with the royal family for many years.
The wedding festivities take place on Marstrand all weekend and are arranged by an event company. An entire staff of employees has worked for several months with the event. Several of the island's fine restaurants, as well as Carlsten's fortress, are involved and will on various occasions receive the wedding party and the island's hotels are fully booked.
The party gathered for lunch before departure with chartered rib boats to the small island of Hamneskär and lighthouse Pater Noster. The 32 meter high lighthouse from 1868 is one of the West Coast's most famous landmarks.
The wedding guests returned to Marstrand with the rib boats just after 5 pm. The bridal couple had their own boat and with wide smiles on their lips they stepped ashore as husband and wife. After the bride and groom and the guests stepped ashore, mingling in the sun awaited on Societetshuset's veranda.
Later in the evening there will be a dinner and big party.

Jacob de Geer has a house on Marstrand, where he spends time especially in the summer.
Jacob de Geer's parents Carl and Christina de Geer are good friends of the king and queen.
Victoria and Daniel attended the wedding of Jacob de Geer and Nicole Kreuger in 2007, they divorced in 2016. They had three children. Jacob and Nicole attended Victoria and Daniel's wedding. Jacob de Geer is also a mentor and inspirer at Prince Daniel's Fellowship and its entrepreneurial programme.
Jacob de Geer's sister Sophie de Geer Josefsson and her husband Marcus Josefsson are Victoria and Daniel's good friends, Victoria and Daniel attended their wedding and Sophie and Marcus attended Victoria and Daniel's wedding. I have also read from the swedish press that Daniel is godfather of Sophie and Marcus' son William.
Jacob de Geer's sister Lovisa de Geer is Madeleine's good friend.

Per Gessle's surprise at the royal friend's luxury wedding
The festivities continued on Sunday and the wedding party was then surprised by Per Gessle.
The festivities have been going on all weekend and on Sunday it continued outside the Grand hotel on Marstrand. The bride Faye Flensburg gave a speech for the guests and her husband and several of the guests then gave a speech to the bride and groom which was followed by loud applause.
Later on Sunday afternoon, the guests got a real surprise when Per Gessle showed up for a private gig.
Outside the Grand Hotel, the stage that had been built had been completely sealed so that the gig could only be seen by the wedding guests and the bride and groom. Passers-by, however, could hear the music being played.

On Sunday at 14.00, everyone gathered outside Johan's restaurant at Marstrand. Everyone was then dressed up, because it was time for a party with the theme of sea, sailing and SOS. The Crown Princess couple fit the theme perfectly, Victoria in life jacket and Daniel in white for sailing.
Drinks and simple food were served before the entire party of about 120 people headed towards the Grand Hotel at 15.00. Outside the entrance, Karoliner stood and greeted everyone.
And here the party really started - Per Gessle was in place and performed live music!
According to reliable sources, Daniel and Victoria stayed on Villagatan on Marstrand all weekend, at the home of the De Geer family.

Victoria and Daniel were yesterday evening at Håkan Hellström's concert at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg. The concert was the first of four concerts that Hellström will perform at Ullevi this summer.
Friday's concert should actually have been held in 2020 to celebrate Håkan Hellström's 20th anniversary as an artist. But then came the corona pandemic.
Victoria was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans with a black shoulder strap bag across the body and Daniel wearing a green shirt and also blue jeans. Daniel seemed to be in a good mood and gave Expressen's photographer a thumbs up who captured him on his way into the arena.

Victoria and Daniel attended yesterday evening at the 50th birthday party of their friend Michael Storåkers at his home Villa Beylon.
Michael runs gallery CF Hill and is a very good friend of the Crown Princess couple. He lives at Villa Beylon, the stately house in Ulriksdal Palace park, close to the castle. It is a huge pink house of 400 square meters, named after one of Gustaf III's courtiers who received the plot as a gift from the king in 1772. The house has a total of eleven rooms. Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson lived there until 2006 and since then the house has been planned for several royals. But Michael Storåkers moved there with his family in 2014.

The painting was done by Mr. Prayom Yoddee, an artist in Lampang Province, Thailand. The Embassy has duly submitted the painting to its high destination on behalf of the artists and the Thai communities in Sweden. How does it feel that Scandinavian royalty wear Baum und Pferdgarten? We often see Crown Princess Victoria in your designs.
- It is of course a compliment. After all, the royals appear in many different places in the world, and it is great to see the Crown Princess wearing our clothes. In addition, the clothes suit Crown Princess Victoria very well.
What is your favorite look on Victoria?

Örjan Jakobsson, designer of Victoria's headpieces, tells to Svensk Damtidning that when Victoria doesn't want something too hat-like, then a headpiece is perfect. He has made five or six headpieces in his company Parant Couture to Victoria, the green one was the first. He almost pinched his arm when he saw Victoria wearing that! Then only a few weeks passed and Victoria needed one more, for Princess Ingrid Alexandra's confirmation. Then Örjan had to hurry to find silk ribbons. Victoria would be wearing Jennifer Blom's lavender blue dress, and Örjan had only seen it at a photo. But Örjan told Victoria's stylist Tina Törnqvist, that he had the situation under control and the headpiece was spot on, exactly the right color. Örjan tells that he doesn't always have a lot of time, when Tina calls. But it is such a great honor and so honorable that Victoria wears his headpieces.
Victoria clearly feels stylish and comfortable in Örjan's headpieces and wore another one at the opening of the General Synod. And on Wednesday Örjan sent another one to the Palace, he makes them from silk ribbon that he folds, it's a technique from the 1920s, he found from an old book how to do it. 20-25 meters of silk ribbon are required in each headpiece. They aren't very heavy, but they still weigh a bit. It is important that they sit firmly when Victoria wears them. To attach them Örjan puts some on diadems, to others he uses a metal comb with small loops that the court hairdresser can use.
Örjan is also a trained hairdresser and photographer with 30-year career in Stockholm. He has now his studio in his old hometown in Västergötland. Unfortunately, they don't live in a hat country, so on a daily basis, Örjan spends most of his time taking photos and doing hair.

Victoria met Jessica Meir, Sweden's second astronaut on 20th June. Jessica lives in the USA, her mother is Swedish.
Jessica Meir has been interviewed by Aftonbladet about that she can be the first Swede on the moon. At the interview Jessica Meir spoke also about the meeting with Victoria, and she had also lunch with Victoria and the king.
Meir says:
"I had a good conversation with the Crown Princess, we have a lot in common. We are the same age, and she, like me, has a strong sustainability platform in terms of the environment and climate change. Her efforts in those areas are important to me as well."

Victoria, Daniel, Estelle and Oscar have this evening been at the Royal Tennis Hall to watch a tennis match between Sweden's Mikael Ymer and France's Quentin Halys at Stockholm Open tournament. The man beside Estelle is former swedish tennis player Thomas Enqvist, tournament director of Stockholm Open. Ymer won the match.

Ymer paid tribute to the audience, where Crown Princess Victoria and her family sat in the VIP stands together with tournament director Thomas Enqvist.
- People want to angle it as if I don't want to play here at home in Sweden and sometimes politics comes in between. But believe me when I say, from the heart, that nothing makes me happier than coming home and playing here in front of you- I am grateful that Thomas Enqvist gave me the chance and made it possible for me to play here. Royalty in the stands too. It's wonderful to see your joy, it makes me happy. Big thanks to everyone!

Daniel has met Stéfanos Tsitsipás at Stockholm Open in 2018, when he handed out the winner's trophy to Tsitsipás.Tsitsipás told about their meeting to the press:
After the title in the Stockholm Open four years ago, Tsitsipás got to meet Prince Daniel. Although it was a while ago, the 23-year-old remembers large parts of the conversation with royalty.
- It was a very good meeting. He was very kind and congratulated me a few times. It was a good experience for me to talk to him. He said what he thought of the match. It was interesting to hear that from him. He is not an expert in tennis but his opinions mean a lot to me, then I think we drank champagne together.

Actress Lena Olin and her daughter actress Tora Hallström were guests at Carina Bergfeldt's talk show this evening and spoke about the film Hilma about artist Hilma af Klint, where Tora plays Hilma and Lena Olin the older version of Hilma. The film is directed by Lena's husband and Tora's father Lasse Hallström.
Tora tells at the show that she saw the film for the first time on Monday at the Royal Palace with the royal family. She sat next to Victoria, and it was very intimate and an incredible experience. Carina then asks what Victoria thought about the film. She cried, Tora tells and tells also that Victoria was very interested in the film and asked her questions while they watched.
