The ceo of Finnish Olympic Committee said, that he would have wanted Sweden to win, because then the finnish athletes could have competed at their "home games". It would have been great if Sweden would have got the Games, since Italy/Torino (Turin) hosted the Winter Olympics as late as 2006.

Victoria and Daniel attend on 21st August at Tylösand Summit.
Every summer SNS gathers academic researchers, leaders in politics, business, the public sector and civil society for a one-day summit in Tylösand. This year, the theme is artificial intelligence (AI).
One of the speakers is Marcus Wallenberg, Chairman of The Prince Daniel's Fellowship's Steering Group. Wallenberg is also Chairman of SEB, Saab and FAM and Vice Chairman of Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, which is behind Sweden's largest private research initiative - Wallenberg AI Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP).

On Wednesday, August 21, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel attended the Tylösand Conference, which is organized by the Study Association for Business and Society (SNS). This year's theme was Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Since 1948, SNS has annually invited leaders for Sweden's largest companies, authorities and organizations, as well as researchers and politicians, to the Tylösand Conference to discuss current social issues. This year, the participants discussed how developments in AI affect business, society and everyday life.

The literary salons at Haga Palace are organized in cooperation with The Swedish Academy.
Professor and author Anders Olsson is a member of the Swedish Academy, he was the permanent secretary of the Academy from June 2018 to May 2019.
Arkas Asaad was born in 1980 at the Kurdish part of northern Iraq, is a Swedish writer and multiple Swedish champion in the taekwondo Olympic. In January 2011, Asaad debuted with Starless Nights, a partially autobiographical novel that touches on male honor culture.

The Crown Princess Couple celebrates the anniversary

On September 21, Alingsås celebrates its 400th anniversary. Now it is clear that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, the duchess and duke of Västergötland, are celebrating the big birthday.
- We are so pleased that the Crown Princess couple will come here and celebrate the anniversary, says Birgitta Westergren Lenken, project manager for the 400th anniversary.
The Crown Princess couple arrives in Alingsås at lunchtime. The visit begins at the Kom Loss fair in Nolhagahallen. Next, the Crown Princess couple visits Nolhaga park where they plant a tree next to the tree H.M. The king planted 25 years ago at Alingsås 375th anniversary.
The Crown Princess couple then visits the grand anniversary luncheon at the Grand Hotel. The afternoon begins with the Crown Princess inaugurating the new Järtas park.
To conclude the visit, the Crown Princess will hold a speech during afternoon's anniversary concert at Stora torget.
- We have planned the program carefully and hope that the royal visit will give the whole Alingsås and all visitors a memorable anniversary experience. The Crown Princess couple also walks from Järtas park to Stora torget, and we hope that many residents of Alingsås will welcome them along Kungsgatan, says Birgitta Westergren Lenken.

On Wednesday, September 4, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel visited Electrolux, which this year celebrates 100 years as a company.
Electrolux was founded in 1919 when Elektromekaniska AB merged with AB Lux. Today, the company is one of the world's largest manufacturers of appliances and celebrates 100 years this year.
During the visit, the Crown Princess couple got a tour where they got information about the company's history, look at old and new products and know more about what the Electrolux market looks like today. Extra focus was on Electrolux's work on sustainability and their work on making it easier for consumers to act sustainably in everyday life.
In conjunction with the 100th anniversary, Electrolux has developed four new sustainability goals that are in line with the UN's global sustainable development goals. By 2030, Electrolux will aim to:

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel participate in the ceremony in memory of Estonia's sinking

On September 28, it is 25 years since the passenger ferry M / S Estonia sank on its journey from Tallinn to Stockholm.

The Crown Princess Couple celebrates the 400th anniversary
- Our hope is that it will be an unforgettable memory for both the princess, the prince and the residents of Alingsås, says project manager Birgitta Westergren Lenken.
One year ago the invitation was sent out. After many conversations with the court, the Municipality of Alingås finally got its sign last week.
- We in the political steering group and the project group are very happy, says Birgitta Westergren Lenken.
The Crown Princess couple arrives by train at lunchtime on September 21 and the visit ends at about 18.00.
- So they have time to participate in many of the festivities.
The visit begins at the Kom Loss fair in Nolhagahallen. Next, Victoria and Daniel visit park to plant a tree next to the tree that King Carl Gustaf planted 25 years ago at Alingsås 375th anniversary.
- It feels very nice, it will be a joy in the future and for the residents of Alingsås, says Birgitta Westergren Lenken.
The next item on the program is a grand anniversary lunch at the Grand Hotel with specially invited guests. Among other things, representatives from the youth council will talk about the future.
- We have found out that the Crown Princess is curious and that she wants to know a lot about our city and our history. So we should try to convey that in a good way. During lunch, AM Alströmer will give a small historical talk about Alingsås history, as a descendant of Alströmer.
During the afternoon, there will also be the opportunity for the residents of Alingsås to meet Victoria and Daniel as they walk to Stora Torget after opening the new Järtas park.
- They will walk along Kungsgatan and then there are opportunities to both pay tribute and greet. And I hope I will be festive for both the residents of Alingsås and for them, says Birgitta Westergren Lenken.
The visit ends with the anniversary concert at Stora torget where the Crown Princess holds an anniversary speech at 16.19.
What does the royal visit mean for Alingsås?
- We hope it will please the residents of Alingsås and I would even like to say that it puts Alingås on the map, and not just now but for the future.

What a day for Victoria and Daniel in Alingsås! The weather was gorgeous, the sun was shining. And so many came to celebrate and wanted to see Victoria and Daniel. It was a long day for them with the train trips from Stockholm (440 km from Alingsås) but I'm sure Victoria and Daniel were very happy that they came.

This weekend Alingsås celebrates its 400th anniversary with pomp.
Some who were present on Saturday were Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.
And the residents of Alingsås received them with open arms.
- The feeling we got was that people went out of houses. The Crown Princess couple was overwhelmed, says project manager Birgitta Westergren Lenken.
During Saturday, the Crown Princess couple in their role as Duchess and Duke of Västergötland were on site in Alingsås.
The couple came to Alingsås at lunchtime and had a packed schedule.
Among other things, they visited the Kom Loss fair in the Nolhaga Hall before moving on to Nolhaga park. There they planted a tree next to the tree that the king planted 25 years ago when Alingsås celebrated 375 years.
After visiting the anniversary luncheon at the Grand Hotel and inaugurating the new Järta park, the visit ended with Crown Princess Victoria holding an inaugural speech.
The speech was held during an anniversary concert on Stora Torget before crowds of people.
- The whole square was full. All the people had come out of the houses. The streets were lined. I am super duper-satisfied, says Birgitta Westergren Lenken, project manager for the 400th anniversary.
She adds:
- We are overwhelmed and the Crown Princess couple was overwhelmed by how many people were out. So many who cheered and rejoiced, it was absolutely amazing.
At 18, the Crown Princess couple was about to leave Alingsås. According to the schedule, they would leave at 18.22.
- This has exceeded all expectations. We obviously thought it would be good, but that it would be so big ... that so many were out and praised them is great, says Birgitta Westergren Lenken.

On Saturday, September 21, the Crown Princess couple attended the 400th anniversary of Alingsås.
The anniversary celebration began in the Nolhaga Hall where the Crown Princess couple, with governor Anders Danielsson, received a tour of the Kom Loss fair. The Kom Loss Fair is a fair focusing on increased accessibility, participation and health. The purpose of the fair is to increase the opportunity for everyone to participate in leisure activities, regardless of their ability to function. The Crown Princess couple and the governor also watched a friendly football match.
From the Nolhaga Hall, the Crown Princess couple walked to Nolhaga Castle where they planted a tree near the tree the King planted in connection with Alingsås 375th anniversary.
After a lunch at the Grand Hotel, the company walked along Lillån to Järtas park where city gardener Agneta Wendesten told about the park and its renovation.
From Järtas park, the Crown Princess couple and the governor walked along Kungsgatan to Stora torget. Along the walk, city gardener Agneta Wendesten told about historic buildings as well as Nygren's farm dating back to the 18th century.
On Stora Torget, the Crown Princess held an anniversary speech and said:
"Today, September 21, it is exactly four hundred years ago that King Gustav II Adolf issued city rights to Alingsås. The year was 1619. I hardly believe that the king, and those who lived here then, could imagine the tremendous development that awaited:
From a church village of three hundred inhabitants to a city of forty thousand. From barter to textile industry.
And on to today's many entrepreneurs in small and medium sized corporations.
Ladies and gentlemen, Alingsås history is in many ways also Sweden's history. The development of a city reflects our country."
To conclude their visit to Alingsås, the Crown Princess couple and the governor listened to the first part of Alingsås 400 minute long anniversary concert.

Victoria reminisced also at her speech the visit she and Daniel made in Alingsås in 2010:
It's not that often you get the opportunity to celebrate a 400-year-old. So when you get the chance, you should do it properly. And that, dear Alingsås residents, you really do! Both today and earlier in the year. Prince Daniel and I are so happy to be here and celebrate your big anniversary with you.
For us it is also a dear sight. Our first trip to our country as a newlywed went to our duchy and dukedom of Västergötland. Among other things, here to Alingsås. And a few years earlier, I was here myself, and inaugurated an accessibility-adapted playground. And of course I tried it too ... So I have nice memories from here!"

Royal shine. Today, people went out of houses to celebrate the 400-year-old, Alingsås.

25 years of the Estonia disaster - The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency MSB honors the victims
On September 28, it is 25 years since the passenger ferry M/S Estonia lost its voyage from Tallinn to Stockholm. This was the largest civilian ship disaster in Europe after World War II and 852 people were killed, of which 551 were from Sweden.
To commemorate the victims and their relatives, a memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 28 with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Estonia Monument next to the Galärvarv Cemetery at Djurgården in Stockholm.
Their royal highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel participate in the ceremony as well as representatives from Parliament and Government, authorities and foreign missions.
MSB is the state's contact body for relatives and survivors of the Estonia disaster.

During a memorial ceremony for the victims of the Estonia disaster, Crown Princess Victoria was seen bursting into tears.
Together with her husband Daniel, she commemorated the memorial day by attending a ceremony at Djurgården in Stockholm.

Victoria and Daniel visit tomorrow RFSL Riksförbundet för homosexuellas, bisexuellas, transpersoners, queeras och intersexpersoners rättigheter (The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex Rights), which is a non-profit organization founded in 1950. RFSL's goal is that LGBTQI people should have the same rights, possibilities and obligations as everybody else in society.

On Thursday 16th January they visit Socialstyrelsen (The National Board of Health and Welfare), which works to ensure good health, social welfare and high-quality health and social care on equal terms for the whole Swedish population.
The National Board of Health and Welfare is a government agency under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, with a very wide range of activities and many different duties within the fields of social services, health and medical services, patient safety and epidemiology.

On Wednesday, January 15, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel visited RFSL to get in-depth information about the organization and its activities for LGBTQ people.
RSFL is a non-profit organization founded in 1950. RFSL's goal is for the same rights, opportunities and obligations to apply to LGBTQi people as to everyone else in society.
The union works locally, nationally and internationally with 7,000 members and 36 departments spread across Sweden.
During the visit, the Crown Princess couple received a presentation of the business and in-depth information about RSFL's work.
Among other things, the Crown Princess and Prince Daniel got to know about the work of young trans people's inclusion in sport and how the support for elderly and LGBTQ people looks.

"Today, RFSL and RFSL Youth received a historic visit from Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel because they wanted to learn more about LGBTQ issues! The Crown Princess couple took a tour of the office and met representatives of some of our many different businesses, to gain an insight into the challenges faced by LGBTQi people in today's social climate.
- At a critical time when the presence of the rainbow flag is being questioned and RFSL's operations are threatened by nationalist forces, more need to stand up for the rights of LGBTQi people. It is therefore a symbolically significant event that the Crown Princess couple is interested in LGBTQ issues and has chosen to visit Sweden's largest and oldest organization for LGBTQ persons, says RFSL's federation chairman Deidre Palacios.
