Princess Marie Starts Working Visit to Cambodia
Today, Sunday April 3, Princess Marie, as patron of DanChurchAid and to mark the 100th anniversary of the organization, started a five-day working visit to Cambodia, accompanied by Secretary General of DanChurchAid, Birgitte Qvist-Sørensen.
On the first day in Cambodia, the Princess paid a visit to the Choeung Ek Genocide Museum, a memorial built fo the victims of the Khmer Rouge regime killed between 1975 and 1979. Princess Marie laid a wreath in honor of the victims.
Then the Princess visited the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, and also met with some Danish teachers and students from the Tommerup Efterskole who are currently in Cambodia for the “World Citizen” program.
