King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima Host Lunch for Mozambican President

Today, Friday May 19, Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima received the President of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, and his wife Isaura Nyusi who are currently on an official visit to the Netherlands.

The President and First Lady were officially welcomed with a welcoming ceremony held in the courtyard of the Palace Noordeinde in The Hague. The King and the President inspected a guard of honour and the national anthems were played.

Inside the palace took place a private audience and then the Royal Couple and the Presidential Couple posed for the official photograph. Afterwards took place a luncheon hosted by the King and Queen.

The King in his speech stated that the visit “highlights the strong ties that have existed between the Republic of Mozambique and the Kingdom of the Netherlands for more than forty years now.”
