Princess Mabel’s Wedding Gown To Go On Show In Australia
Attention Melbourne royal watchers and lovers of all things bow – the Viktor&Rolf couture wedding gown of Princess Mabel of Orange-Nassau will be part of an upcoming exhibition on the design duo at the National Gallery of Victoria.
A photograph of the gown – which is remembered most for the 248 various sized bows that were the main design feature of the gown – packed in its shipping crate was shared on Twitter by Koninklijke Verzamelingen, the Dutch Royal Collection, with the caption ‘The wedding dress of Princess Mabel has left the Royal House Archives and is on its way to Melbourne for Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists’.
The exhibition will run for four months at the NGV, opening on October 21.
