The Queen Of Spain Turns 75

The Queen of Spain celebrated her 75th birthday on November 2nd. The ever popular Queen Sofia was born a Princess of Greece on this day in 1938. She was the eldest child of the late King Paul of Greece and Frederica of Hanover. Queen Sofia of Spain has two younger siblings, ex-King Constantine II of Greece and Princess Irene of Greece.
The future Queen Consort of Spain married Infante Juan Carlos of Spain in May 1962 in a lavish royal wedding ceremony in her native Athens. In 1975, Juan Carlos acceded to the throne as King of Spain with Sofia as his Queen Consort. Queen Sofia has 3 children, Infanta Elena, Crown Prince Felipe and Infanta Cristina of Spain.
